Good morning everyone
It's just taken me over an hour to catch up on the posts I missed! I couldn't get on all week as I was so busy with work, but now I have totally finished and officially started my maternity leave :j. It feels rather strange to know I won't be going back for 6 months. Think of all the money making I can get done!!
Belated Happy Birthday to everyone who has had a birthday I have missed, it seems like there were quite a few.
I managed a bit of present wrapping yesterday and can hopefully get a bit more done today. I think I might make some fudge too as I need some for presents. Do you think it would keep if I made it today and kept it in the fridge?
Well, I'm 39 weeks pregnant on Tuesday, I'd love it if the baby was born in the next few days. I think I'll start reading all the old wives tales and doing what they say to speed things up. Even if it doesn't work, it gives me something to think about! So far on my list: fresh pineapple, hot curry, long walks. Any other ideas?Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Nicky - castor oil in orange juice (YUK) Raspberry leaf tea (YUK). My friend bumped down the stairs on her bum :rotfl: That worked a trick, she had him there and then.
Legend - I have no sympathy - it's all self inflicted. :rotfl: (I'm only jealous) Glad you had a good time.
Michelle - you moan away all you like. We know you're tired hun. You're exactly like I was. I put my foot down now and don't volunteer, and if they ask me, I only say yes if I want to. It's taken me years to toughen up, but I've had to, they walk all over you else.
One review posted on Chow. Am off to deliver presents now to SIL.

Morning (just) all,
Pretty peaceful morning just me and the little one as eldest is still at her grandads, managed to get one review on but think it was a little too early as it only has 8 rates, got another to go on before I go to work and got 2 ready for tomorrow - a couple are about birthday cards so not much to write so not sure how well they will do I think some people look at a short review and rate it down without reading it.
I have finally finished all wrapping, hampers and card writing (as long as I haven't forgotton anyone!!
Off tomorrow and Tuesday have to go to library and doctors and a couple of bits in a supermarket at some point and then the house is getting a good clean so it won't even feel like I get time off I bet!
Michelle I know how you feel - my oh works as a supervisor on an egg farm and they have to work until the orders are finished so at busy times of year he works long hours and if the mahcine goes down (often) he can end up there overnight.
Doubt i'll get back on today so everyone have a good day and 1 week to go!!!!!!!!To get to Disneyland Florida 20160 -
Afternoon everyone, having a good morning. S&S have given me another food panel so that will be £10 this time next week, and did £2.85 yesterday on viva. Need to up my game a bit, do I have time to join in the chow promo or is it too late now?
Having a big problem, was going to give my grandad a digital frame for Christmas, but I forgot to get the memory card, and the bits to connect it to his pc etc so have decided that we will do this for him next year instead. Soo... what on earth can I get him for this year? He doesn't drink, he doesn't do chocolates, he says what he thinks and is quite old fashioned in the way of ethics/morals etc. He has a successful antiques business and is retired. I don't know what he is into really except he buys himself a M&S meal everyday for dinner. I was thinking of getting a giftcard for M&S but as he gives us money it seems a bit thoughtless and not very personal. I had considered a hamper but he would say it was too much, he makes a big deal every year about how much we spend on people (we probably pay less than everyone else for more expensive looking gifts I guess) so it can't be anything expensive either. We bought him a scarf year before last, and a tie and cufflink set last year which he liked but i have no idea and today is the last day to order anything online, PLEASE HELP!!
Apart from that I am all good, need to order the photo's tonight as it's last ordering day today. Have another 9 cards to make and less enthusiasm, it's hubbies birthday tomorrow too so need to get the cake, presents and cards sorted too lol.
Sisters boyfriend is also joining us at Christmas but have a spare present laying around luckily, if they are together next Christmas I will make them a movie hamper, easy peasy
Well done on the money making everyone, still trying to catch my tail!Comping wishlist for 2017

It's not too late to do C. It runs till the end of the month for 50ps and £7 bonus for 5 toy reviews. You still have to christmas eve for double rates too.
How about a nice pen for your grandad? I did nice pen and notebook for a couple of people this year, went down well.
I've managed to get a couple of reviews on c today so far. I'll get another couple on later. I think today might be my last good day at it. Once the kids are home I think I will have to face up to the fact it is too hectic to do it during the day. I want to have fun with them.0 -
Savvy - I haven't checked but the M&S hampers were half price the other day, guarenteed delivery defore Christmas too. Have a look and see if there are any left, if that's no good, Michelles idea of the posh pen was a good one.
Emma - still busy busy busy. I hope you manage to fit some time in for a rest at some point.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Thanks Michelle and Elysia, The pen is a nice idea but know nothing about them so will have to have a look and see on Wednesday as I have to go into town anyway. I was thinking of the hamper but again, he would say it was too much and make a big deal. The year before last he made a big scene about us buying such expensive gifts (although they weren't in the slightest) so a whole hamper would be too much although such a lovely gift, last year he said pretty much the same but less abrasive about it. He's very old fashioned with the value of a pound and how hard he had to work throughout his life to earn money etc but you can't really announce that you paid pittance for everyones gifts whilst they are all sitting there can you
I have found some lovely mugs on Funkypigeon so I may make one from dd to him and perhaps get a few festive treats from M&S. Such a tough man to buy for, the maps that you all got would have been perfect if they were focused on the street etc. I have HMV vouchers to spend so I was thinking maybe a dvd but not sure what he likes, the last thing I saw him enjoy watching was the original version of alladin, not an animation but one played by indian actors back in the days were special effects were awful, I can't for the life of me find it as it is such an old film and he watched it in tv last Boxing Day so probably wouldn't appreciate it this year.
Just spent the last hour photoshopping Christmas pictures so dd is smiling in them lol, it worked a treat and at least we have a lovely picture where she is smiling now, thank goodness for the wonders of computer technologyComping wishlist for 2017

Savvy - how about a newspaper from the day he was born? or would that be more a birthday type gift to you think? WHS sell them here http://whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=90008856 It might be a bit late now, but you could always say it's in the post and get him something small to open on the day.I :heartpuls M.S.E.

Michelle - I can never get anything done during the day unless DD naps and I can rate, or if she's watching tv for 20 mins I can get a bit of rating done, evenings are never quiet with so much to do!
Savvy - Im totally rubbish with man presents, sorry I cant help. my stepdad is getting a cheap shirt, and my brother is getting some beers from us!
DONT FORGET S&S IF YOU HAVENT DONE IT YET
Evening all, got a couple reviews on today, 1 more written for tomorrow, we are going to stay with DDs grandparents in there holiday cabin tuesday night, so thats written off doing anything tues or wednesday but they have a hottub there so its worth it :rotfl: want to try and write as many as possible tonight!Making money for christmas 2012:santa2:0 -
Just quickly catching up, will post properly tomorrow but Savvy I made my Grandad a hamper this year just with snacks and things like microwave popcorn, peanuts, marshmallows, jam, chutney, small bottle of port, mince pies, cheese biscuits etc and got a lot of it from £land, if you just got a small basket maybe he wouldnt complain it was too much? Just an idea but I made it for my Grandad last year and he loved it so much he gave me the basket back hoping i would do it again this year!0
