Oooooooooooooh I love Ikea :j
Took Wee Beastie for lunch and the little monster fell asleep in the bus and slept through lunch, an extended walk around and most of my half-hour rummage through the bargains corner and only woke up when someone dropped a handful of metal drawer handles on the floor in front of her
Still though, I bought six shiny bottle bags for 98 cents. a doormat for 49 cents (what I went for), and a bright red cotton bedsheet and a denim sofa cushion cover for €1 each that I plan to make dresses for the baby out of :money: I also went through my socks yesterday and found a load of long socks I never wear because they dig in at the top so they are now in a Future Sock Monkey pile. I think my niece and VBF's little one will be receiving sock monkeys with their Christmas presents this year
When we left Ikea it was insane; complete snowpocalyse and I was starting to worry the buses wouldn't run and we'd be trapped there  we got to the train station and the snow was coming down so hard I couldn't see the opposite platform! But Wee Beastie loves the snow so she's gone back out with DH to the bank and on the millions of other errands he's taking care of.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Hello all :j
Had a good nights sleep (thats two on the trot :T) so felt much more positive about doing something today ...............made four cards -well two were sort of notelets for my sons so I've written to them to update them on whats going on............doesn't sound like much but to me it was.
Bitterly cold here today...........OH came in sniffing and sneezing..........said it feels like it might snow:eek:
Hope he's wrong there.
Cleaner coming tomorrow..........think I'll just get her to hoover round then clear out all the ''stuff'' in this little comp. room I'm in. Stuff just got shoved in here after Christmas and there it stayed.........some is charity shop stuff, the rest black bin bag. I'll feel better when thats done..........can't see the wood for the trees at the minute.
Keep busy all of you:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

OOOOOPS I forgot to publish DOH!
It now there I promise :rotfl:
You can subscribe to it, and it send you an email when I add stuff
Aha!! Yeay! Yummy, thank you! Subscribed!
Can I ask you (and other cake makers on here) about butter icing - it drives me around the bend to make! When you 'cream' and 'beat' do you use a power hand whisk?! I broke a wooden spoon over Christmas.... lol
SugarSpun - glad you got home safe in the snow!!!
mary-op - glad you had another good night!! Our front bedroom is a bit like that - still got the Xmas decs in there!! They NEED to go up the loft....
'Working'late tonight. Feeling productive though, which is all very well but everything I want to do is at home! Though saying that I have just listed something on ebay (for the first time in YEARS!! And back then I only did a handful of stuff!!) - bit of a shock to the system, but lets see how it goes! It's a stainless steel gas hob - boxed and new! Fingers crossed! Exciting....
I want to sell my wedding dress too, but I don't know the best place. Anyone had experience selling a wedding dress? Is ebay the best or do wedding dresses disappear in the piles of dresses being sold?? Was also thinking of Preloved but it's not a particular designer or anything, so not sure if it be the best place.... Any thoughts ladies?

I use an electric whisk. Have used a spoon for just a little amount.
As for Wedding dresses, I tried to sell mine, no luck, ended up freecycling it, just to get it out the house. :TSaving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -

It does lol!
Trick is, whip up your butter, then put in your icing sugar and use a dirk until incorporated and then use the whisk againSaving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -
