    Hello all :j
Well OH is home at last ! No point in him being in hospital............he can have the same here as they were giving him..........all they were doing is giving him pain relief..........well he's got that at home and at least he's in his own place instead of stuck in a bed in a ward. Going to see out GP next week see what he makes of it all. Discharge sheet makes no mention of the possible op he nearly had or antibiotics he nearly had either ! But he did bring a questionaire home that I'll have great pleasure filling in !

Elysia - thanks. not too fussed about sparkles........just more subtle dark greens and reds than the really bright ones our shop has

Susan - OH is as well as home as he would have been in hospital and says he feels better than last time he was discharged to here's hoping. I don't want him sent back there...........no point if they don't intend doing anything

    mum2one - what a list of challenges.............lol
Thankfully I don't have to worry about 'back to school' stuff - the rest...........well I'll try but I'm so behind I don't think I'll ever get there.............lol
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

    Welcome home Mr Mary xxx

Poxy post office was closed this afternoon, so two parcels are sitting awaiting postage and I didn't get my stamps. Monday will have to do, I suppose. Packed box count is now seven, but it has barely made a dent and we have so much stuff to go that I am terrified of the work still involved. I'm going to do one more box now then take a cool shower and head to bed, it was 33 degrees here today and I am melting.

    Morning all

Glad Oh is home Mary, I do hope he gets on ok now.

Sugar - I hope we get a bit more of the sunnier weather again. Everytime OH is off work we get the bad days and when he goes back again its nice out.

I thought of something to get my ED for her 30th, I am going to buy her a charm bracelet. I have already bought some charms on ebay this morning, I found loads of lovely ones that mean something to her including a 30th, a daughter one, a sister one (from YD), one of a nurse (her job), two little boys and a little girl (my grandchildren) and her zodiac sign. I have put a bid on a bundle of other charms that would help to fill it up a bit more if I win, sale ends at about 3 this afternoon. The charms are all the clip on ones. I found a lovely bracelet on there earlier which would have been ideal but it didn't say how long it was an ED has quite big wrists although she is slim built. I sent them a question asking for the length but they didn't reply and it's sold now. Shame as I would have paid a bit more than what it went for if it had been right size. There are another couple on there though, one ending tonight so I have put a bid on that and see what happens. I want a decent bracelet, not one that the colour will come off after a few wears.

I totted up the costs of the keep warm and active in winter hampers (coming in around £30-55 depending on what else I get to put in them) and the gardening hamper (£40 approx) and the RRP is at least double the costs

Means am almost there - total budget is £100-£120 for mum and brother

Having a relaxing weekend and just pottering around today - have a good day everyone

    Hello all :j
Been sitting in the garden with my knitting........oh it seems this scarf for my son will never grow............lol
Bout time I started thinking about a few other things to do as well but with foster daughters baby being due October I want to do a little scrapbook for her and time just seems to fly.
Maybe some of the christmas stuff I'd thought of earlier will have to take a back seat for a while apart from the 'christmas in a box' -should be able to do them easy enough (I think)

Hope you're all well. OH did dinner last night (steak -proper food for a change he said...........lol):)

Well done Fedup, I need to get some more bits for my daughter's hamper, don't know what I am going to put in it yet, a bit of everything I expect.

I found two more sites with free prints today so ordered a few more. I got 50 from Bonusprint and 60 from Truprint. The Bonusprint site was rubbish though at uploading the photos, I was trying to upload them all in one go and it only uploaded about 5, every time I put them on again it kept stopping and they were not in order on the site so I was getting in a right muddle as to what I had uploaded and what I hadnt. I got there in the end though, about 2 hours later! The next site, Truprint was much better, it uploaded the whole 60 in one go and was easy to go through checkout, they took Paypal too which was a bonus as I had just sold something and it paid for the postage.

I won the bundle of charms so I will have plenty to fill up the bracelet now and YD has asked if she can have one for Christmas so I will have some left over for her too. I just need to get a bracelet now, I have seen some silver chain on sale from an Ebay seller to make one myself but I am not sure if the chain is the right stuff so have sent her a message and I am waiting for her to get back to me. I reckon I could make it for about £10 including the bits for doing it up and its sterling silver.

    Hi all

Rufus the charm bracelet seems like a wonderful idea, for both daughters too.

Sugarspun I'm wondering how many boxes of pressies you have packed.

I was talking to mum today and mentioned that refridgerator jam. She told me about a jam she used to make years back where instead of mixing everything on the stove, you heat the sugar in the oven on it's own then add the fruit raw in the jars. So the fruit e.g raspberries come out whole. As soon as she mentioned it, memories came flooding back to me, the sugar melts in the jars.

Any of you tried that method?

I was on the computer for ages last night trying to work out what to get to make these bracelets lol. I had to shut it down in the end as it was going my head in. This morning the lady I contacted replied and sent me links to the proper things I needed to make two bracelets. I ordered the bits this morning from her website instead of EB and the total came to £22 which is what I was going to spend on just one chain bracelet yesterday morning. This includes two lovely gift boxes to put them in after. I had a bit of Paypal money left in my account so only had to pay £18 out of my bank. I am really pleased about this. I will just need to get a few more little charms for YD's bracelet but I have a while to go before Christmas to look out for these.

I will probably get ED a bottle of wine to go with hers for her birthday. Now next thing to sort out is my niece's wedding in October. I am thinking vouchers but not sure which shop to go for.

Bahaahaaa! So far just one Anglea, the 2011 Christmas gifts. 2011 birthday gifts are still in a bag because I will be offloading several of them before we move and the 2012 gifts are in the top of my wardrobe. I'm planning to get them today, as soon as the monster child awakes from her nap so I can get in there.

I don't like the Bonusprint site either Rufus, it is always bockety and gets on my nerves.

Tis roasting here today, Wee Beastie and I have been playing in a cool bath for an hour already. It seems ridiculous even thinking about Christmas, how can we possibly do Christmas when it is so, so hot that it feels like it will never get cool ever again?!

    Hello all :j
Nightmare trying to sort out OH's prescription........send him to hospital with all his stuff and comes home with not a lot ! Still, done now thankfully and our GP says he has to have appt. with 'boffin' before 2 months...........well I tried but seems his first appt is in 6 weeks time !! So much for being told when he was discharged that it would be 2-3 weeks time.
Nurse been and sorted out dressing.........coming back Thursday so thats all done. OH now asleep in his chair so I've finished knitting sons scarf...........at last !!:rotfl: Just need to find some info on the internet about how many stitches to cast on for mens wrist warmers for him.

Gardener chap came to clear some rubbish from the back shed and we found a metal candlestick -quite ornate and just not 'me' plus little string bag of seed pods...........now thats more like 'me'.........how did it end up in the shed ???

You lot are all getting on so well with these pressies........I must get on with it...........:)
