air bricks & frozen pipes

i have a room thats approx 1.5m by 2.5m...it has 3 external walls and they have 5 airbricks......is that excessive for size of room?
(no gas appliance in this room)

i have sufferred from frozen/burst radiaor pipes on 2 occasions during this cold weather ..... and its always in this room...no where else in the house

I assume that these are air bricks to ventilate the underfloor space of a suspended wooden floor and not air bricks in a wall intended to create a degree of room ventilation. If the former then you need to be careful regarding the underfloor timbers getting damp so maybe the solution is thick carpeting to insulate the floor. If they are wall air bricks than you could cover some or all of them and see [careful wording] if the air quality in the room remains acceptable [a room of those dimensions sounds like a bathroom or toilet].
