Sky + box has no power

Looking for some advice - my Sky + box has no power to it at all. Now I know that it is a £65 call-out but have also looked on Ebay and can buy a new box for about that much - could I just buy a box and put my old viewing card in it, turn it on and hey presto or is it far more complicated than that??

Any advice gratefully received - BigG

    you can just buy another box but youll need to ring sky to pair your card to the new box

    If you buy a new box you have to pair you card to the new box.

    On the off-chance it may enable you to watch Her Majesty this afternoon, did you check the fuse in the Sky box's mains plug?
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
