Shocked at seller response

O rdered some items of clothing on ebay for my hubby for xmas and in the description it said if you wanted size xl large for "over 17 stone" to say so when paying. i did this as he does have a large chest, they came and the top leasured 38 inches fully stretched!!!!!

i didnt feel this was anywhere near large let alone x large and emailed them to say i was disappointed and that non of the items would fit (very pleasant and polite email) they emailed back at 1st saying their customer services would contact me after christmas as they had moved premises!!!!!!!

When i pointed out these were supposed to be for presents they offered a refund on 1 item - which to me was no good as it was an outfit set.

I told them this and waited to hear - nothing so feeling bitterly disappointed that 3 presents are no good i let negative but constructive feedback , now i have just received an email from them saying they hope i feel better after my outburst!!!!

I feel quite upset, i have bought and sold on ebay and i would never treat a buyer like this. Maybe i am being a bit over sensitive?

Did you not open a dispute before leaving feedback?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Persoanlly I think you were a bit quick off the mark with that negative, should have negotiated a little more first to see if they would have been prepared to refund the whole order. Was there a reason that they only offered a refund for one item? What was the deal with the other two?

Maybe, but i emailed the problem straight away just thinking they would send me larger sizes and i could return the smaller ones maybe.
No reason no, i think they just didnt seem very helpful or forthcoming .

Is the size marked on the label? If that is wrong then you could probably make a PayPal claim

You should have opened a dispute, you would have had to return for a refund but depending on what their returns policy is they may have reimbursed you for that.
    Then left a neg.
You can still open a dispute for SNAD. Obviously no good for Xmas.

38 is teeny really, I would SNAD
  • It sounds like they are probably selling the items cheap because they had the wrong labels put in, which say XL (ie 2nds goods). In which case this should have been explained in the listing. If it is not, then you definitely have a claim.

Are they a business seller (usually if they are selling multiple quantities on a buy it now)? You could have just returned it under the Distance Selling Regulations.

By leaving the negative feedback you are just going to get their back up.
