We had an old Zanussi dishwaher and changed to a Bosch just before xmas... we are very impressed with washing results, knocks spots off Zanussi (sorry for pun!)

I think it must be something to do with your salt/rinse aid, but not an expert.

I use rinse aid and the 3-1 tablets (not very moneysaving i know) but my glasses are always sparkly.

I would recommend what others have said, i had to check my water hardbess and then adjust the machine to a certain figure your manuel should tell you how to do this. Felt a right wally phoning up the water board and asking weird questions about water but she said they get it all the time for dishwashers.
  • Sorry guys no feed back as yet as I haven’t had the time to call the helplines.
I also can’t find my manual. Its always the same when you need something you’ll never find it!

Our dishwasher has a salt indicator so no need to add salt yet. However when I opened the salt container water came out is that right?

Anyone know how to adjust the salt level? Oh and that bosch web site is 100% useless.

This thread is proving really interesting!!!

I have a Bosch dishwasher and it leaves a weird residue all over my crockery...it's as if it's all been sprayed with Weetabix!

I've found that when I take the bottom drain-type-thingy out it's all full of water and although I regularly clean the arms, they always seem to have sweetcorn and glitter in them :D

    confusing!!!!!
Just run, run and keep on running!

I find that you can put too much salt into the salt dispenser and it partly solidifies. Try taking the top off (water will run out, this is normal) and giving the salt a stir with a spoon. Also if you cannot find the manual then you may not even have the salt dispenser and the rinse aid dispenser turned on.
Both may be disabled for users who are using the 3 in 1 tablets and do not need extra, such as in soft water areas.

You can change the settings on most machine by holding in certain buttons (LED on button flashes to show function has activated) as you turn on the main switch. Here is what they do on mine.

Hold in TIMER button and turn on machine:
    Rinse Aid On/Off - 0 = Off & 1 = On
Turning it off disables the display when you aren't using rinse aid. I don't use it as I use the 3 in 1 tablets!

Hold in AUTO/55-65 button and turn on machine:
    Intensive drying function On/Off - 0 = Off & 1 = On

Hold in 50 button and turn on machine:
    Salt Dispenser On & Amount/Off - 0 = Off & 1 - 7 = On & Quantity dispensed.

Hold in 45 button and turn on machine:
    Cycle finished Beeper volume: 0 > 3 - 0 = Off 3 = Loud.

Try holding in different buttons on yours and turning on the machine to see what they do. A double arrow (like an S) is the salt indicator. This will show when you are setting the salt quantity or, later, when it has run out!
A star shape (*) will display when you are activating the rinse aid (On or Off) and also later if it has run out. Adjusting the quantity of rinse aid is obviously made by adjusting the dial in the dispenser.

You may not have all the functions I have (or maybe more) but have a fiddle.
Note the settings each time until you find the best for your area/requirement.
Turning off the machine will save that setting for that function.
You can only adjust one setting at a time.
    Hope this helps.

you mean it was only the glasses that came out a bit dull?

Same problem with bosch. Glasses no longer sparkle.

Got rinse aid bottle refill, so hoping that works.
