The problem was that my partners insurance is up on new years eve and so there was only a small window from now till then whereby I could negociate both car policies at the same time.
Its really frustrating because Im virtually paying more than I did 3 years ago when my policy was based largely on named driver no claims bonus.
If things dont improve next year I reckon my girlfriend will get a better deal with the likes of sheilas wheels etc.
Plus, erm, my points will be off my license by then- I got a speeding fine in dec 2006.0 -
I've just received my renewal (with Sheilas' Wheels) and it's gone up over £100 :eek:0

Direct Line and Churchill are both owned by RBS (I think) and our government owns most of RBS.... so using them is helping everybody!0

things have to go up to cover claims, and everyons obseission for injury claims0

I have had both home and car insurance with them almost every year since 1992
I have found with home insurance in particular, every time renewal comes through I go on line and get a quote about 25-30% cheaper for the equivalent or sometimes slightly better cover. Something to do with an online internet deal. I have written to their HO twice about it now, as they wouldnt just amend my renewal price but made me take out new policy - got an apology first year and they said they should have amended it, second and third year same thing.
So I do this automatically now before renewing, as well as using a comparison site.0 -

I'm afraid things do go up because people believe that and then are happy to pay. Who do you thing started that as the reason, the claimants, or the insurers?
Do you then seriously think they will make a loss by reducing your premium by 25 to 30% just because you ask them to?
Or do you think they will still make a profit?0 -

If he makes no claims they will make a profit.
If he has an accident they will make a loss.
This applies to any single policy.0 -
