breakdown of picture on freeview

Can you tell me what causes intermittent breakdown of the picture mostly on freeview channel Five USA. Sometimes the picture breaks down into strips and sometimes almost the whole screen.
Can I put it right and how?

If it is the aerial or I need a signal booster why is the breakdown on only one channel?0

some channels are stronger than others, the channels are sort of bundled together, so you may have problems with one group - in my old place I couldn't get about 4 channels, got a booster and they appeared!!Getting fit for 2013 - Starting weight 10.1.13 88.1kg
