I have taken quite a few pairs of kids shoes back to Clarks and they have always replaced them with very little fuss.I took one pair back because they had worn out after a couple of months, one pair for going 'baggy',they had been poorly fitted and another pair because they let in so much water DS' feet were soaked.
    BTW,now I don't buy Clarks,just supermarket shoes and I haven't had a problem,they seem harder wearing and they're cheaper too.
Take them back, you shouldn't have any problems, good luck.

I will move this to the Vent board as it's probably the best place for getting advice on this issue.

Do you think he might be crawling about on school on his hands and knees therefore dragging the front of his shoes along the ground and wearing them out? If so, then I can't see that you have a chance of getting your money back, as no shoes would withstand that.

We've always bought our children's shoes at Clarks and never had a problem with them wearing out too fast or being badly made, but there is always the possibility that you got a Friday afternoon job!

I've never had a problem with Clarks either, apart from the toes of the shoes being scuffed after just a couple of weeks, but I took that as what my children were doing when they were actually wearing them, not as a fault with the shoes.

We recently had the same problem with a pair of Clarks shoes for our 8 year old. badly damaged after a week. Always expect some scuffing, hes a kid etc, but these were badly damaged. took them back to our local Clarks who exchanged them no problem. However is there a trend developing that Clarks shoes are nolonger as good quality. All my animal print and heel compass shoes are still fine though!

Went to the local clarks after school today and got the pair he had exchanged for a new pair

    so RESULT :)

The woman did mention that the shoes were slightly too big for him ( despite them being fitted by a clarks shop worker) and that they were getting a lot of this style of shoe back due to them falling apart.

Anyhoo - Son is happy cus he has a new pair of shoes and im happy cus the new shoes were £2 cheaper and they actually refunded me the £2 despite not having a box or receipt :)
