Hi Victoria,
If you bought a pair of shoes - and only wore them a few times, and spent over £70 on them - would you be happy if they broke or needed repairing within a 3 month period?
I quote my statutory consumer rights with regard to the purchase of clothing and footwear which can be found in the Sale of Goods Act. They refer to standards of quality and consumer expectations, and what I should do if these are not met.
MY statutory rights
Any item of clothing or pair of shoes I buy should be of reasonable quality, with no damage such as missing buttons, holes, stains etc. The items should be fit for the purposes intended – i.e. hiking boots should be tough and strong, and should also be exactly as described – if a rain mac is described as waterproof, it should be exactly that!
Any breach in your statutory rights
If any of the above are not the case, there has been a breach in your statutory rights and you would be entitled to a repair, a replacement or a full refund. Remember your port of call is always the shop or retailer – you should not be referred to anyone else and they cannot tell you it is no longer their responsbility. For most things, shops would usually allow you to exchange the item or give you your money back straight away. However, if the damage is minor and can be repaired easily, within reasonable time, at no additional cost to you and without causing any significant inconvenience, then the shop can insist on this as a first option, although this will not stop you from taking it back if the repair is unsatisfactory or there is something else wrong with it. Where a refund is the only option, but you would like to keep the item anyhow, you are quite within your request a discount on the price paid.
International Consumer Protection and Enforcer Network (ICPEN)
The OFT is a member of the ICPEN , a global network of national consumer protection agencies. Where the supplier is based outside the European Union, it is possible for the OFT to pass on suitable individual consumer complaints (a special complaint form is available) to the relevant overseas agency. The complaint form will then be forwarded to the business in question for a response.
I will be placing a complaint with the Office of Fair Trading if I do not receive a satisfactory answer.
Econsumer . gov
A complaint about an overseas internet business can be registered at econsumer, an international consumer complaint database maintained by the US Federal Trade Commission. Your information can help the authorities to crack down on dishonest internet traders in the future. Your complaint will be accessible to participating government law enforcement agencies. The site also provides general information about consumer protection in all participating countries and contact information for consumer protection bodies in those countries.
I am happy to send you photos of my 'hardly worn' UGG boots so you can see how this is a faulty pair of boots and not 'general wear and tear'!!
Many thanks
I realise that this site is FAKE!!! What is my best solution here?If you bought a pair of shoes - and only wore them a few times, and spent over £70 on them - would you be happy if they broke or needed repairing within a 3 month period?

The pair of black classic UGG boots I bought from you have developed a
hole on the left inside stitching!!! I am NOT impressed as you are supposed
to be selling genuine UGG boots???!!! I spent over £70 and for a hole to
appear in less than two months is ridiculous - especially as I do not wear
them often!
I am very unhappy and extremely dissapointed!
