  • My hubby finishes work tomorrow until Jan 5th. I'm working sporadically over christmas, but have xmas eve, xmas day and hopefully now boxing day too, so it'll just be inbetween for me by the looks of it!

before i met my hubby i always worked xmas and boxing day. i was single so thought my colleages who had family would appreciate being with their familes, and i appreciated the tripple pay, lol.

but this xmas hubby is off from work 17th dec till 4th jan. Fantastic. first time in 10 years he has been able to have such a long time off over xmas. it won't happen next yr i doubt so making the most of it, and enjoying every minute. He is on emergancy call out 27th and 28th but hopefully he won't be too busy.

My oh is in the fire service and he is on nights christmas eve and new years eve - boo!! Before we had kids he was really lucky with his shifts and since kids been a bit of a nightmare but hey ho - the boys are 10 & 7 so we have talked about how they can have their stockings but not their pressies till dad comes in approx 9.30am. So I have tried to bulk their morning out with stockings, tv, breakfast in bed, have baths/showers and dressed so it can go mental when dad comes in lol. I know we sound boring but we dont really 'do' new year -so not really bothered. Any other ideas on how to delay the kids gratefully accepted - lol.
