I'm sure if I was shorter, I could actually see the thing below the scanner, but noo, I'm 6'4.:(

So you never look down? It must be a very lonely world up there!
    Gone ... or have I?

"Notes are dispensed below the scanner."

You didn't listen to the voice prompts then?

And didn't see the on-screen animation showing where the notes come out. (some of them even have a large arrow pointing to the note dispenser)

Maybe flashing lights and a jingle will help ;)

  • What gets me is that in some branches of Tesco they now use slightly different machines - where you have to scan your Clubcard by waving it over the barcode reader instead of swiping it down the side of the screen,

    ?

They've been like that for about 3 years in Chester. In fact, I've never seen one where you have to swipe
  • I believe those sort of machines mynameisdave are in the newer stores.

I already asked her for help scanning the stuff, TWICE.... so I didn't want to ask again. Silly, but true.

Oh, so it doesn't come out of the place where I popped the tenner into.....? !!!!ing brilliant.
I'll remember to look there next time, if I ever use them again (which I doubt).

I despise using the self service machines in Tesco, they never recognise my bleeding products, always say theres something in the bagging area that shouldn't be and on top of that the staff are hopeless, stand there for about ten mins before they come and help, it drives me mad! I used to be in a queue for the proper checkout with a trolley full and they say 'oh no use the self service it will be quicker' my !!!!! - Ive ended up telling them where to go these days and refuse, on the plus side I can feel smug about all the free stuff Ive ended up getting from Tesco thanks to the self service being so rubbish - get home to find half my stuff hadn't actually scanned through so Ive only paid for some of it......:)
