Vince Cable likely to have to resign

Shame really. I do like him.

But more stuff has been leaked from his conversation with the telegraph (when he thought they were lib dem supporters).

Basically, he's unleashed war on Rupert Murdoch, stating his whole empire is now under attack.

Bye bye Vince. Liked you a lot. At least you were usually said it how it was.

poor Vince has lost the plot.

he's coming across as a raving lunatic at the moment instead of a calm and collected politican.

Sounds like a silly old man 'flirting' with a giggly young girl.

Don't quite see what he has done wrong. Are we expecting everyone in the coalition to agree on everything?

In essence, he's basically saying he is willing to use his political standing to partake in attacking an "empire", basically based on left leanings vs a right leaning corp.

He is doing a Gordon, Not quiet saving the world but clearly thinking is own gravitas far outweighs anyone else.

I can finish the government single handedly = I can finish my political career single handedly.

At least he can test his theory, think he may be wrong though.

No, far from it in a coalition. But the idea is to work together not to think you are He-Man shouting...

Basically he is saying that the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and President of the Board of Trade, has declared war on Mr Rupert Murdoch and News Corporation, and block his attempt to buy all of BSkyB.

In this case Vince Cable and his own personal opinions should be separate from those of the Office that he holds.

The fact that this is yet another tawdry undercover sting is irrellevant, ultimately.

I think as many expected, many of the policies of "smaller" parties are to all extents vote winners and were never going to happen if they came to power.

Even if the Monster raving looney party got in I bet non of us would have a free pickled gherkin.

they would have got more long term support if they hadn't got into bed with the Tories.

the current He-Man 'I have the power' attitude proves they were in it for their own egos and careers and not for the good of the country.
