Thinking of moving from Vodafone to Virgin and can't decide which phone
Since I don't have a clue, I'm hoping that some of you guys might.
I haven't been offered anything decent by Vodafone retentions and have now received my PAC.
I've been looking around and am swithering between an HTC Desire and a Blackberry Pearl 3G - both are on Virgin, offer 200mins, unlimited text and 1GB mobile internet for £20/month over a 24 month contract.
It's been a long time since I've looked at phones, as my current one is a Sony C510 (which is several years old and worse for wear).
Are there any pros and cons I should look out for with these phones?
Am I completely oblivious and these are actually terrible deals?
And I guess the key question - if I hold off until after Christmas are the deals likely to get any better?
Thanks in advance
J

I've got the Desire and I really like it. There have been some reports of rebooting due to overheating which shows up after a month or two of use, but I don't know how widespread this issue is. I know a couple other people with Desires and they've not had any problems.
I've used Blackberry's before but not the Pearl so can't comment specifically on that. Looking on Expansys the Pearl 3G is £130 cheaper than the Desire SIM free, so I'd expect to get a better deal on contract for one.
The best deal I've seen on the Desire lately was T-mobile 300/300/1GB at £15/month over 24 months with the phone for £59.99 which is a bit cheaper than your Virgin offer but not by a huge amount.
I guess the deals will always get cheaper as the newer phones come out but with any area of technology that is developing fast it's difficult to judge when best to buy as there's always something better if you wait a little longer.0
