  • Thanks anterminator! But this doesn't resolve the problem as they would only do that after the contract of 12 months is over  , and I need to use this phone outside UK next month. I am really confused what to do now. I am stuck

Just a quick note from someone else who's taken up the retention offer from 3, I can't see the problem with it - a lot less hassle than going for the whole new phone/number/re-programming phonebooks, etc. and totally cashback claim free. Having just lost out on £750 cashback in the Just3G fiasco & collapse, I see it as a much safer option at the moment.......

oh, and it does work out at £5-odd for the year, NOT per month....

Beware of their Indian call centre - I agreed a 'retention' new phone £150 cash back new 12 month contract - The contract was renewed - but no record of the new phone or cashback - Nightmare scenario!

They do it in Indea to avoid sanctions from OFT - Office of Fair Trading.

It took over three months to get out - Debt agency still hounding-

    You have been warned.

Better stick with a new cashback from E2 or CWP

their indian call centre has some of the most courteous people i have spoken to in a long time but unfortunately unless your query is extremely simple they dont appear to be able to help you at all

I spoke to 3 last week 1 day before my contract expired and they told me this offer had now gone up to £46 for the whole year, even though i had been offered the £5.55 deal 2 weeks earlier.

This is a good deal, however watch your minutes useage,if you have been used to lots more minutes each month on the origional contract it is quite easy to get through 100 and start paying for calls. This maybe also 3s thinking.

Try 3 again - they will unlock your phone, but if you are still in the first 12 months you have to pay the line rental in advance up to the end of the 12 months plus the £15 unlock charge.
