I've made Nigella's Chocolate Fruit Cake for the last 2 years and will make another this week. It looks like a traditional fruit cake, but smells and tastes much nicer! Spicy, ffruity orangey and very CHOCOLATEY

I love Christmas cake, pudding and mince pies, so won't be much help
How about profiteroles?
Delia's chocolate torte (this freezes well if you have leftovers, as it's quite rich).
Nigella's Christmas Rocky Road - brazil nut, cherries and marshmallow, though you can vary this if those exact ingredients aren;t to your taste:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
You could try Panettone; or Bolo do Rei ( King's Cake ), the Portugese / south American Christmas cake which is similar to Panettone, but you can make it with either glace fruits or chestnuts.0

I just use a normal baking sheet for swiss rools. What about Nigella's Chocolate pudding? We are having wither that or some sort of chocolate orange sponge which I shall invent on the day. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

most baking sheets are deep enough to be used as a swiss roll tin

I also don't actually own a baking sheet, I just line the grill pan with greaseproof paper when baking cookies
Thanks all, might attempt a dundee cake or the chocolate torte thing. Just wanted something christmas-sy without the heavy cake bit0 -

Can't beat a panettone, light but delicious.
I used to have a recipe for a candian fruit cake, sponge wth a few raisins / sultanas / currants / peel, also tinned pineapple pieces and a couple of spoonfuls of whiskey....again a really good teatime treat!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
