OMG the memories! I always wanted a big yellow teapot, the Mr Frosty and the alacarte kitchen, I never got any of them though, I got hungry hippos which my mother always regretted buying me, then there were the pobbles(pouch on the back so they turned into a ball) and etch a sketches were fantastic!

As for Jem and the holograms I never has the doll but I still have the video and sometimes find myself singing the songs from it ( how sad!)

Going way back one of my favourites was the spinning top, the one with the plunger that hummed........... fantastic!

I had a speak & spell...I never actually wanted it though, my parents just decided that my spelling was awful (well, maybe they had a point:o) & got it for me one Christmas. I played with it a bit but was never thrilled about it until my godfather taught me to type swear words into it & get them back in code so that we could swear at each other in secret:rotfl: (I would have been about 7:o). My parents never knew & STILL have it under their bed, they are apparently keeping it for my son! Poor sod, he's only 1:p

My best ever Xmas gift was a Victoria Plum (hands up who remembers her?) school bag in white with purple handles. I first saw it in my mums cataloge & wanted it so badly I remember crying over the picture! I used it until it wore out:D
Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!

My parents werent really in to fad toys sigh!
I had a dolls pram and a teddy one year. My brother and I used to play 'football managers' with the toys as the players and load them all into the coach(pram) to travel to matches (round the garden).
He did get a hot wheels set one year.
I had Britains farm animals and circus animals and we used to get those little airfix soldiers to paint. I had the robin hood set.

My sister born 8 years after me had more luck. She had a fisher price family tree house , girls world ,sindy and a sooty hand puppet (not sweep ,he was too noisy ) so ofcourse we had to help her to play with them all :)

LOL, I always wanted the purple snail keeper, but there were none, so I got a "tanga" it was a yellow and orange freakish camel tortoise type one instead, but I loved it!

I still have one pobble at my mothers house too, it was a pink thing but it's all matted and scraggy after having gone through the washing machine too many times!

Oh the memories, stop stop stop, I'm getting all nostalgic!

I had a pound puppy too! I got it as an early christmas present from argos one year, because the folks couldn't smuggle it home past me, it was the beige coloured one with the droopy brown ears with 3 pups in the pouch, a black one, a brown one and a black and white one, my 20 year old sister still has it on display in her bedroom!xxx

I've just bought my brother the Evil Knievel stunt set from Amazon, for Christmas (He's 30!!!). I tried to get him one off ebay last year but the original ones go for silly money. They've re-released it so I can't wait to see his face - we love giving nostalgic gifts for Christmas!
