Continental Airlines Sale

I am looking for direct flights Birmingham Airport UK to New York in September 2011

When do Continental have their next sale?
How can I get notification that the sale is on?

Thanks
Tim

Keep an eye on their website http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/default.aspx?POS=GB

    Consider a flight+hotel or flight+car deal.

I would recommend flying indirect with KLM from BHX. Only usually adds an hour to the journey, and the service is far better.
    Gone ... or have I?

An hour? More like four. Fastest connection through AMS is about eleven and a half hours, direct is about seven and a half. However, that time saving will be reflected in the fare. Continental have similar direct flights from a number of UK regional airports to EWR, and they can generally charge a slight premium for not having to go via a hub.

Agreed. An hour is rather over-optimistic.
IME service on Continental is perfectly OK for flying to east coast of US. Would have to be a really big difference in price and/or service to make me take an indirect flight to NY from the UK. Such an unnecessary hassle. You especially feel it on the way back.

One exception, I suppose, is if you really need to go into JFK rather than EWR. Doesn't make much difference if you're going to Manhattan, but if you're going to the Hamptons or something it might be worth the shorter journey at that end to go via AMS. Would be a toss-up for me.
