  • Still at Mr S, glad Christmas is out of the way now (gets a bit annoying when it starts in October!) so we can get back to some 'normality'.... well, as normal as you're gonna get in retail!

    Sx

Ahhh I know the feeling Sarah, we are already have easter eggs in. I have gotten used to it now but it makes these holiday a bit of a let down if you have seen decorations etc for 3months+. Glad you are still there though :D

NSD these past few days, not too bad considering. There will be spends tomorrow as I need white paint for my room. No more savings added sadly but not long now till my monthly chunk.

Well this room has a picture rail so I am keeping that. The skirting, picture rail, door frame and window has been glossed white. The gap between the ceiling and the picture rail is matt white (but the gap needs touching up hence the paint), as is the ceiling. The main colour (3 walls) will be cookie dough from dulux, but I bought the endurance stuff because I am now sleeping against the wall iysim, so this can be wiped. Then the feature wall is tropical flowers in stone/beige.

My furniture is now all white in the hope that I can keep the room as light as possible. I am keeping my cream curtains and bed linin so I don't need to buy new for that, plus I have my small cream carpet runner. The only things I need to buy are two white shelfs and my carpet. I am buying my carpet on ebay (once I have seen the samples) which will be fitted by someone local (saving nearly £150), that will also be a dark brown.

I think it will look quite nice, I am just stuck as to layout at the moment. I was sure I was going to have it one way but after moving the bed today to paint I like it another way, typical. Can't wait for it all to be done if I am honest then its onto Mums room and the living room.

Umm that was a long answer to a simple question :o Sorry about that.

  • Thanks Beanie I may just take some 'after' pictures once its done.

So a spend day today, Mum paid for the paint as it will be used in all rooms but I did spend some money. £4.98 (£5, pennies in pig) for 2 punnets of strawberries, apricots, plums, mushrooms, carrots and bananas in a local green grocers. I also bought a new pair of slippers, these were £7, all my other slippers are boot style but these are slippers with a sole. I got them because the garden hasn't been tidyed/cleaned yet so when I take the dog out for a pee I end up getting coated in mud. A wise investment I think as I was washing slippers every other day  So £12 spent today :o

£250.00 into my savings today :j Will prob put some more in by the end of the month. The bag I mentioned early arrived this week and I will be sending it back for a refund. Although I love it and its not as 'girly' as other bags I have seen it won't be used. I can see me using for a few months and then thrown into a cupboard not too see the light of day until its ebay'ed. It wouldn't be too bad if it only cost £5 but this one is nearly £30. So I am returning it, its the sensible thing, maybe next week I will find something cheaper in town :D

A small amount of spends today, £8 for my two shelfs and £1 for breakfast, Jan spends now £37.50. I also bought so animal stuff but as that comes out of my grocery budget its not counted. I have also ordered my carpet but as I am not paying for that its not counted :T

Good day all around, could do with some junk forr tonight though :o

I have about £47 cash in my purse which I really want to last until payday, which will be very easy.

I did it, it was payday yesterday and I made it. I did semi decide to try and do it for the whole of Jan but I have just picked up a bargain that I couldn't leave, only £15.40 ;). So for this 'month' (16th-14th) I plan to spend only £60, thats £15 a week... Simples :rotfl:
  • Nice one Paps. We definately need some pictures of your 'new' room when you've finished it.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

Well done Pap! I'm doing something similar at the moment - started with £16 in my purse and want to see how long I can make it last on urely personal spends. It's meaning I really am avoiding getting tempted, but if I manage to eke it out through this week it'll take a hammering next Saturday night as I'm out with friends for a meal (already paid for) so will be buying drinks. Having said that though I'll be driving so that'll help!

I love the colour of paint you've chosen by the way - we need to decorate the front room here, but are having problems settling on a colour!

  • Thanks Pen, I shall do, I am hoping it will be finished before I go back to work but it depends on the carpet fitter. I did semi regret giving my brother the middle room in the new house but that was mainly due to having to buy new furniture etc but now I really like it. The wall paper is amazing! Plus all the clutter has gone as I havve nowhere to store it :D

EH, its great isn't it when you don't feel you need to spend money all the time. My weekness was reduced items and stuff in work, all needless expense. I hope you hold onto your £16, but do have a great time on saturday :j Thanks, it looks so much better on the wall, except for the fact it looked like melted choc and I was tempted ;) We are moving onto our living room this week and the reduced paint picked the colours for us. In focus they had reduced a ton of their own brand paint and there were two dark chocolate colours and two cream colours. They were what we had chosen anyway (base colours) but these shades were reduced, so much better. The problem we had with the living room is for it to be dark enough for wear and tear but light enough to live in. I hope you find a nice colour soon, I know how hard it can be however

Have a great weekend all :T
