Right i needed to fix a coaxial plug onto my aerial wire, so i bough these :
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1606
tried to fit it on by following this tutorial :
http://www.qvsdirect.com/How-to-fit-a-Coaxial-Plug-p-72.html
I cant get any channels on freeview to work! I get 5 normal analogue channels but they are so fuzzy! this aerial used to work fine so im guessing im doing something wrong.
Any ideas?

If just one strand of the outer braid is touching the inner core this will happen
Or perhaps one of the cable clips is piercing it?This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -

Is the aerial still there and pointing the right way?
Did you get freeview before?0 -
Yep, that's the one
Check your aerial is pointing same as next door etcThis is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -

right plug, right instructions.
make sure you are keeping the copper braid away from the inner wire and that the inner wire is in contact with the centre stem pin (this plug has a small screw to make this connection)0 -
yep, that's the right connector
take it apart and start again (cut 2" of cable off for a fresh start)
That tutorial looks right, the only variation I do is I cut/fold away the silver inner (looks like tin-foil) which helps prevent any copper strands catching the inner wireUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
I'll try again and get back to y'all
