Boys - dinosaurs, cars, trains, power-rangers, ben 10 figures etc
Girls - craft kits, dollies, teddies, dressing up stuff, tiaras etc
Girls - dinosaurs, cars trains, real screwdrivers, hammers, lego, meccano, computers, DS, Wii, homemade chemistry set (bicarb&lemon juice, for example), bubble mix (fairy liquid, water & glycerine)
Boys - puppies, cars, pens, pencils, craft kits, dressing up stuff
Both - Bikes, musical instruments (girl - drums, boy - recorder & glockenspiel), balls, scooters, yoyo, 'dolls' house - but a fire station instead of a terrace. Fire engine, cart, cat, cat in the cart purring as they pulled her round.
And I forgot - Playdo, plasticine, modelling straws, air dry clay, hydrophobic sand, glitter glue....I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Some pencils and a pile of A4 paper.
DD has plenty of toys and next week will get a few more, but she always goes back to pen and paper. She does play on our ipod touch and laptop, but has an attention span of about 5 minutes. Watching a DVD takes her about 2 weeks!0 -
My son loves his Ben 10 figures, and the little Gormiti creatures. He'll happily sit in the corner playing with a handful of those little beasties, ignoring many of his larger toys. He also loves his DS, and likes playing on my Wii. Recently, he's also started drawing a lot, and likes sitting at my big desk with paper and pens, drawing all sorts of bizarre things.0

Lego's the biggest hit here.0

Lego because you stick a few bits together and suddenly they are soldiers. Or guys. Or pokemon. Or zombies. Or bakugans.
At this age they are starting to discover small toys that can fit in a pocket, but there has to be several of them.
Cars and garages are a big hit too. I have bought DS2 (5) a garage that folds up into a wheel with a carry handle. Pretty sure he is going to love it.0 -
It's actually for my daughter, but I had been wondering about some lego, I know they do pink boxes full of Lego but wish they'd do more geared towards girls0

My firends daughter got th epink lego for her third birthday a few weeks ago. She loved it. She still loves it. She wanted us all to go home so she could play with her pink lego

Lego and playmobil will be played with for years so well worth the investment imo. There was no pink lego when I was a girl but my sisters and I spent hours building houses and such like with it.0
