I have my grandchildren to stay and childmind the one for his mum to work part-time.
most popular toys are:
the dolls house (even the grandson loves this) complete with mummy doll daddy doll and babies (its fisher-price and has had years of use and is still in one piece!)
the cars and parking garage with ramps (the girls like this too)
till and play money
toy kitchen with 'fast food'
Play doh - but oh the mess!
paper, paints, glue, glitter and anything you can stick on it!
'barbie computer' but after ten minutes they get bored , but come back to it and play again!0 -

For my son at this age he loved his wooden train set, but loved the plastic Thomas one even more, I think it was called Tomy Tomica. You can still get them, but they are discontinued and I have to say that was more exciting than the wooden one. He also liked making Mister Maker things. Also any play sets. Playmobil are great for fire stations, police stations, planes, schools, you name it whatever the child is into they will have a play set.
My daughter, she is just getting to that age and she loves her wooden kitchen, and play sets to go with it. Dolls house, dolls, prams.0 -
DD was any sort of roleplay that involved being mum! Ironing, cooking, washing.
I also make up a craft box every year. Glitter glues, tissue paper, plastic scissors, coloured paper, pens, pipe cleaners, googley eyes, stickers, etc etc!0 -
Anything sticking and gluing and painting and playing with boxes and drawing and all the little things. A box full of bits to to gluing and sticking with I'm sure would go down a treat!!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

I have 2 boys and they both love cars, but also anything you can stick. If you worry about the mess of glue Hobbycraft do self adhesive foam shapes and they are fab!
They also both love music and are happy dancing around. They have musical instruments and love trying to play along with those too.MBNA [STRIKE]£2,029[/STRIKE] £1,145 Virgin [STRIKE]£8,712[/STRIKE] £7,957 Sainsbury [STRIKE]£6,870[/STRIKE] £5,575 M&S [STRIKE]£10,016[/STRIKE] £9,690 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£11,951[/STRIKE] £11,628 CTC [STRIKE]£7,629[/STRIKE] £6,789 Mortgage £[STRIKE]182,828[/STRIKE] £171,670
