The 42G20 is an excellent TV, my dad has one, and I have a 50G10 (50 inch, generation before) - most importantly, they have an excellent picture, but also plenty of good features, the 20 adds recording to a hard drive you connect, and playback from it too, and supports some decent formats. Also VieraCast, internet TV type stuff, which you may or may not be interested in.
Only piece of advice I would give is that instead of the 'G' you might want to look for the 'S' - which is mostly the same (please check the specs and don't take my word) except without the Freesat. If you don't have a satellite dish, or are only planning on using the FreeviewHD tuner, then you can probably save a few quid buying it instead.0 -
It looks like the price of these might be coming down again.
Even though it's the 'S' it still seems to good to be true at £392.50 http://www.thegadgetspot.co.uk/panasonic---tx-pf42s20-plasma-screen--wet-wipe-dispenser-for-lcd-screens-100-wipes-189900-p.asp
The 'G' for £499 here but only if you live near Weymouth http://www.weymouthhifi.co.uk/website/panasonic/2010/panasonic%20txp42g20.htm
I am hoping a reputable and well known supplier might match these in the next few days.0 -
Hi all and Happy 2011,
Please help! I've decided to buy a tv but I dont know which. I think a 32 or 37 inch is best. I'll be glad to get it for not more than 350 but perhaps cld try to stretch if those in the know think it's a good deal.
Thank you.0 -

Thank you.
I went to Richer Sounds this evening and got some info.
He seemed to recommend the LG 32ld690. It's 32" for 399quid 439.90 with 5yr warranty. They seemed to have mainly LG so that was what he showed me. It was the Swiss Cottage one.
What are your thoughts please?
Can you recommend another 32" tv? I dont play video games and don't want to spend more than 350 quid, 400 tops.
Thanks.0 -
Thanks aliEnRik,
I've narrowed it down to a 32". I feel the 37 will be too big for my flat.
Sld I go Full HD ready 1080 or 720? It's a 32" I'm buying.
Also it doesn't have to be 100hz as I dont play comp games?
However, I'll like to be able to use it as a desktop with my laptop so I can watch youtube, online movies, view pictures from my camera etc. That's VGA socket right?
I'll also like it to have freeview and at least two scart sockets and picture quality is most important so sld I look at LED instead of LCD?
My budget is 300, 350 max.
What're your thoughts on the sony nx503 at 300quid?
Any other suggestions welcomed.
Thanks in advance all.0 -
At 32" I wouldnt bother with resolution unless you were to sit on top of it
100hz - debatable, but its sometimes worth having on LCD screens otherwise under certain conditions you can see flicker (very rare mind)
VGA would probably be required to connect your laptop (Unless your laptop has a HDMI connector which would be ideal)
I wouldnt consider LED to be important at all. Generally speaking, an LCD screen 'for the same price' would perform better. Also dont think LED is any better anyways, as at the moment theyre LED backlit but are still technically LCD screens. OLED, which are mega expensive at the moment, are true full LED screens
Id definitely buy the 503 sony if it was me:idea:0
