Orange contract coming to an end will blackberry work with a new provider?
I have a blackberry curve 8900, the contract is due to end in about 50 days.
Looking at quidco I am interested in the vodaphone cashback deal that would give me a £15 SIM only contract for 12 months with £90 cashback. Vodaphone do a blackberry SIM.
Does anyone know if my blackberry will accept a vodaphone sim even though my original contract was tied to orange?
My 2nd question is regarding the contract with Orange. Do I have to inform them in writing that I will not be continuing the contract once it comes to an end? Also will I be able to keep my current number if I take the vodaphone offer?
Thanks for any help/advice.

Your handset may be locked to Orange so you'll need to contact them to get it unlocked before you can switch. Assuming you are on BIS you should also get Orange to release your PIN so you can register for BIS again with your new Vodafone SIM.
You will need to give Orange 30 days notice that you're ending your contract otherwise it will continue on a month by month basis once the fixed term ends. You shouldn't need to do this in writing just give their customer service a call.
To keep your number you will need a PAC code which you can get from Orange at the same time as you cancel your contract. The PAC code is valid for 30 days.0 -
Cellunlock.net, enter discount code CRACKB50 for a 50% discount, recommended by Crackberry, and used by me several times, will be cheaper than Orange's fee I am sure.
No need to unlatch PINS any more, just stick your vodafone sim in and go through the setup wizard.0 -
You will also have to have a blackberry product applied to your account if you want to recieve emails and use the BB products.0

If it's a contract phone it may well be unlocked. Have you got a friend on a different network with a sim you can borrow to check?0
