Doh. I dropped a sewing needle into my keyboard

Hi all!
Not a very high-tech question sorry! :o
I dropped a sewing needle into my keyboard and can't seem to get it out.

Will it matter?

  • Is it a laptop/netbook keyboard or a separate PC keyboard?

Have you tried fishing it out with a magnet.
Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. Peer at your baby's eyes for them to reflect back just people-throw away your flags and religious symbols...

  • It's a separate PC keyboard. Have only tried up-ending and gentle shaking so far!
  • If it's a laptop, don't put a magnet near it because you may damage it.

If it's a PC keyboard (and the keys are raised like this http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/full/46218i0.jpg), disconnect it and then use the flat edge of a bluntish knife to carefully lever the keys up to remove it. They will 'pop' a bit when they come out, don't be afraid to use a bit of pressure. And remember what order they go in!
