Interestingly, unlike T-mobile, Vodafone seem to adjust the existing contracts to the new contract.

Not so simple. Vodafone are administratively incompetent and don't much care about their customers either. As they take new contracts they are changing the whole basis of their bundle dates without telling them (going from a unique calendar month system to one similar to other networks). However, you can split the bills - though they appear even more incompetent at doing that right now.

Hi - regarding the original thread topic of TCB offering £80 cashback if you take out a month-by-month sim only contract ...
They seem to have the same offer on again!!

I've posted an item in the Grabit forum where I've been through the range of emotions from 'that sounds too good to be true' to 'what the heck let's risk it!'

I ordered one 2 days ago, so it's not even tracking yet. The crazy thing is that I only ordered a £10.21 a month SIM but they've sent me a phone as well. I've double-checked my order, and logged into my T-mobile account - they've correctly got me down for just the SIM only deal. The phone is the Android Sony X10 mini that I think is posted elsewhere for the same monthly fee? Maybe this or just the number of these phones they're shifting has caused the confusion? Anyhow, I'm off to wrestle with my conscience about returning it or saying nothing....

How long is your sim-only contract, and does it come with internet?

I am looking at the £10.21 deal today (the one which does include a phone) for my teenager who wants an android phone, but I have a headache and it ends today so I'm all of a fluster because phones and contracts are a mystery to me. Husband had a brief look at lunchtime and said the galaxy phone is best.

Someone said on another thread that t-mobile ran out of the galaxy phone so I called t-mobile and was told that stocks of the other 3 phones are also very low. I was also told that the deal isn't available instore, but it is (but I'd rather have the £80 topcashback).

Why are you asking if you want a phone? Surely it was some error.

Internet can be added as a free 'booster' to sim-only contracts.

Just curious, because if he wants the galaxy phone and I have to go instore for it, I might do the sim-only deal for myself, for the topcashback. I can't work out the sim-only details from the t-mobile website because I have a headache and it makes me more stupid than usual.

EDIT - I have now realised that it's one of those 30-day contracts, and I look very stupid :)

Well I have just signed up for this deal (11th) it says you need to use it for 3 months minimum to get the cashback.

Hopefully this will split the bill during my holiday between the 6th and 18th of June to give to two lots of free calling periods back to the UK within this time.

Was the first month still half-price? My son has bought it recently and it seemed like they pulled the first month discount.

They charged me just over £10 for the first month so it looks like it.

I went for this this morning, but they've just messaged me to say they've added it as a 2nd line on my account, and when I logged into my t-mobile, it's showing as this:

My price plan Contract ends Monthly Cost exc VAT Pay monthly 10 (24 months) 11/04/2013 £8.51

Yet I've got a screenshot showing that the contract is a rolling monthly one "30-day rolling plan - freedom of a short commitment".

I'd have rathered they didn't add it to my existing contract either as I need to send the bills for that one off for cashback.

I think I'll email them, then if I don't get a satisfactory response, I'll have to send it back under the 7-day cooling off thing.
