Don't stick a "free vodka" sign on the door to a 12 step program meeting room.

As I'm sure you know RA, a "free vodka" sign at an AA meeting would get zero takers 999 times out of 1000. Once you're there you're usually OK, it's getting people there in the first place that's the problem.

The difficulty isn't what the regular participants would do. It's what the strangers who see the sign on the outside of the door and come in for the vodka will do. They aren't likely to agree with a regular participant who says that drink companies are evil exploiters of the vulnerable and drink is inherently bad. Even if for that regular participant that's their experience of drink. The discussions that result may be quite upsetting for that participant and disruptive to the atmosphere of the meeting.
Congratulations to those who are living with the knowledge that drink is a problem for them and preventing it being unduly disruptive to your lives!
I used 12 step rather than AA deliberately. If there isn't a 12 step program for those with difficulty dealing with credit there surely will be at some point.0 -
I have made a few posts about varied subjects and because of the response on times there is no doubt it has deterred me expressing my opinion! No one likes to be belittled or rudely criticised when they are giving their honest opinion even if the opinion is wrong at least it was given with a willing heart. Because the truth is we can by getting involved learn. So now although I am more selective on expressing my opinion, I visit the forums most days and I do learn so much.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
