Hi,
I took out a contact with Vodafone back in December 2009 this contract ran for 1 year so ended on the 1st December 2010. Vodafone requested 1months notice that to confirm that I wanted to cancel the contract. I provided over a months notice. The contract was disconnected on the 1st December 2010. I received confirmation from Vodafone that it had been disconnected as well and that I would not receive any more bills as the last bill which was produced was upto the 1st December 2010. All being fine until the 15th December when I received an email from Vodafone saying that my latest bill is available to view on line I'm not able to view this because they have closed down my on line account as well. I have tried sending emails and phoning but they are not much help and dont seem to know why I'm still being charged.
I need to know if I can under the Freedom of Information Act request all the details that they hold on my account free of charge? If I can does anyone know the correct department to write to ?
Thanks

The final bill will show any unbilled usage between the date of your last bill and the 1st December. If you didn't use anything over your allowance it will be zero.
You should always wait for the zero bill, before cancelling any direct debit.
If you are concerned just call Vodafone and they can tell you how much its for.0 -

Hi,
There was no un billed usage on the last bill. The last bill was £18.79 which ran to the first of December and they told me that would be the last bill as I had not gone over my allowances.
I'm not able to check this bill because they have cancelled my online account but I'm still getting notifications of bills,0 -
So where is the problem? Ring them, ask for the amount owing and if it is not £0.00, ask for a breakdown.

I will phone them up again.0

It wouldn't be the Freedom of Information Act, it would be under Data Protection legislation and there would be a charge but can't remember the exact amount off the top of my head.
My Vodafone contract is due to end early January but I have already ported the number. I am fine about having to pay until January but annoyed that my online account has been locked!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
When I closed my Vodafone account I had an email stating that my latest bill was available to view online, which I couldn't access because my online account had been removed. Said bill arrived in the post a few days later (which was a credit amount).0

Have had a similar experience with Three - but I called them and got my breakdown and got everything sorted - hopefully you can do the same0

Hi,
Thanks for your further replies,
I have this morning received an email back confirming that my account ha been removed from their online platform. They have said that the email must have been sent in error. Hopefully that is the end of it.0 -
Something to remember.
IF you pay by Direct Debit and they now take an amount from your account; as they have refused (or not bothered to allow) you access to the breakdown of said bill 14 days prior to the amount being taken, then Vodafone have breached their end of the Direct Debit Guarentee. You can contact your bank, state this and the DD will be returned to you.
Then Vodafone will contact you, you can explain everything and you never know, they could even write it off as a "goodwill gesture". They did for me!Signaller, author, father, carer.0 -

isn't there a risk of this going down as a black mark on your credit history though?3 stone down, 3 more to go0
