Hi all
Im looking for some advice on complaining to the above company as every time i go in and order my fave Dry Martini and lemonade i get given the most ridiculous things.
For those of you who dont know, it is served in double measures and should be given in a tall glass. The last time i was in i was given it in a brandy glass!! Now i have always been quite partial to martini, so i know how it should be served, however when i worked in a pub i was told straight away how drinks should be served.
Now, i have been asked by these so called bar staff what martini is, what you put in it etc. The list is endless. I can understand giving it in a smaller glass if there are no large ones available but i dont understand how they dont seem to have the essential training.
Im not so much bothered by the staff its wetherspoons lack of training, as its more than martini i have seen the problems with. Although im starting to think its just my local one as most of the other ones seem to know what they are doing.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Ginch

I'll move your thread to 'The (Consumer) Vent' board, where it should get more views and responses.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Dry Martini and Lemonade in a 10oz glass please..?
You may be suffering from "not very popular drink" syndrome and/or reduction in 10oz glasses (straight half-pints) - the "mix your own alcopops" vodka+mixer seem to have moved to 12oz (so you have most of the mixer poured to stop you using 1 mixer per 2 drinks). These look a bit empty with a standard M&L especially if you don't have ice.0 -
Yeah i just think its a bit ridiculous when they are serving it in brandy glass.

When ordering surely its easy enough to ask for a tall glass
My drink is vodka and coke and the glass it should be served in is a small glass, but I like my drink drowned with coke so just ask for a tall glass when order, no probs.
You just want a free drinks voucher dont ya :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Lol going by the standards of my local lloyds you would still end up with something different. I cant blame them really, it does get really busy and they usually look understaffed, so its not their fault their harassed.
To be honest i tend to ask for voddie and coke coz its less hassle, but its just something that irritates me.Dearest Max 11th June 1992 - 11th May 20060 -
After ordering a bottle of wine and rejecting 20 dirty glasses in which to serve it, we steer clear of our local Wetherspoons now even though it is only two doors away from the office.0

Blimey, you must be really, really posh Bossy - up here the posh birds ask for a couple of straws with the bottle.0
