Orange Mobile Unlocking

Hi my sister has just got a new phone with orange on contract and she's asking if I want her old phone. I've asked and they said £25 at the market stall to unlock it but am I right in thinking she can get it unlocked for free from orange if she rings up?

Does anyone know the exact number to ring and what exactly you say to them to get the code off them for free? She also has a previous phone just hanging around from her previous contract that I didn't unlock cos it seemed to costly to me at the time.

She's been with orange for 12 years or so. Once or twice I've paid to unlock her old phones to use them but these bb phones they are costly to unlock. Do you think it would be possible if she rang up to get them to unlock her previous phone as well as the one she just used on contract too so she could give it my parents?

I'm thinking of asking her to ring them up but she won't do it unless I have the full details but I don't see why we should have to pay someone to unlock it when she can just ring and get it done for free.

Has anyone phoned orange and been given the code easily?

It takes about 3 to 5 days to come through as a text. But, unless something changed, they're not free. Orange charge £15 for them. . .
