Missing connecting flights

My brother is travelling from Ho Chi Minh City to Mancheser via Doha today. Unfortunately his plane from Ho Chi Minh City to Doha is delayed so it looks like he'll only have 20 minutes to get his connection to Manchester. Assuming he does miss his connection, will he be put on the next plane to Manchester with Qatar airlines. As this isn't until Monday will they put him in a hotel somewhere for the 30 hours or will they allow him to travel via Heathrow (assuming it's open). He's bought a through ticket from Ho Chi Minh to Manchester.
Thanks for any advice. I'm trying to put my Dad's mind at rest as none of us have any experience with this type of thing.

As far as im aware they will put him on the next available flight, & yes, they are liable to put him up in accommodation in the meantime.COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:2 £50 DOMINOS VOUCHERS, 13 PAIRS OF FOOTBALL TICKETS, MICROSOFT HOME EDTN, 2 PAIRS OF ALTON TOWERS TICKETS, 1 CASE OF PERCY PIGS, 1 PAIR OF LEATHER LADIES GLOVES, 4 COLLECTION 2000 PRODUCTS, PLAYSTATION 3 WITH FIFA 12, 5* HOTEL STAY IN LONDON, SEASON 6 OF SUPERNATURAL DVD, PERFECT PIZZA VOUCHER0

The above is correct. He could also request to be routed to Heathrow if he wanted to, they may or may not allow this. Whether or not they would be liable for transport LHR-MAN I am unsure as it would be te passenger choice to transfer to the Heathrow flight. You may find they would do it from a customer service point of view but not sure.0
