Hi
we are due to start our broadband service with sky from monday but the router has not turned up due to royal mail/courier issues, but have received 3 (yes 3) discs for the set up, I take it I can use our existing router for the time being and install the disc?
P.s if anybody wants a disc I have 2 up for grabs (just hoping that 3 routers don't turn up now!)

You'll have to put your Sky details into your router, after clearing your present settings.
I'm sure others will be along with the exact instructions.
BUT you don't need any disks to use a router, in fact all they generally do, is to install a load of branding and stuff which your isp has *decided* that you need.
I've just switched from VM cable to O2, and the disk is still unopened in the pack.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
As above, unless you want to install Macaffe that comes on the Sky install disk then they are not required.
Use as a coaster to prevent coffee rings appearing on your desk.
Niether in the case of Sky broadband are their any settings required on the router as it comes preconfigured for access to Sky Broadband ( in fact they can't be used with any other ISP).
If you are going wireless the SSID and passcode are on a label on the router. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

That's the problem, they don't have the Sky router, are the settings available without hacking the un-delivered router?

I'm pretty sure that I've read that Sky TS will give you the login details if you call.0

will give them a call, again!:p0

I fear that they will not as their T&Cs preclude using a third party router. OP will have to wait for the Sky one to turn up.
