Easyjet - missing return due to delay

I'm supposed to be flying out to Geneva today, collecting my children and flying straight back. There's about 5 hours between my scheduled arrival in Geneva and the return flight's scheduled take-off. Both legs are with Easyjet, although I'm returning to a different UK airport.
So, now I'm sitting in Luton airport with a 3.5 hour delay and the possibility that the flight won't leave at all. I just spoke to someone in Easyjet customer service who didn't seem very clued up or even to understand very well what I was trying to say, but she was telling me that Easyjet won't accept liability if I miss the return flights because the outward and return legs weren't booked as a single booking.
Now it would not be possible (AFAIK) to book these on a single booking because:
Does anyone know if Easyjet would have any responsibility to allow me to reschedule the return flights free of charge if I am unable to get to Geneva on time due to a delay in an easlier Easyjet flight? Or is this a matter for travel insurance?

- The passengers are different (I fly out alone and return with my children)
- The return flight goes to a different airport

Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

as seperate bookings, AFAIK EZY have no liability for your return journey, should you miss it.
Best you can hope for is the return flight also being cancelled because of the weather.
otherwise, you may need to check with your insurance on this.

Thanks all... stupid of me for worrying in retrospect... all the flights were, of course, cancelled. Getting out of Luton and back home was quite a trial, though.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Don't worry - they didn't even bother setting out for the airport after I reported what was going on in the UK. Let's hope the 2nd attempt works better...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
