    Could be the ball joint.

They clunk on corners. I've heard KA's like to eat through lower wishbones/ball joints
It's not really a ball jointy noise, although I know Fords get through them very often, so much so that they're almost a service item to replace!

    ok

Another thing it could be is the top shock mounts. They clunk on corners

It's the steering itself that the noise relates to, as you don't have to be moving at all...Hence why I though it was a rack join or similar. Any other thoughts?

Still get the top shock mounts checked mate

Reason being even if your stationary, if you turn the steering the mounts move and will clunk.

I had this happen to my RS Clio 182 a few years back. Took many garages to actually figure it out in the end. Changed them and no clunking

Thanks, I'll look in to it!
  • Thanks for the giggle. To quote the late, great Frank Zappa, "Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow."

Heard hubby laughing his head off last night. Looked out into the back garden and saw "Weeeee" written in the snow.

    I was not amused.

Why would you rather it had been your knicker drawer?
