Yellow Snow...

So I parked the Ka back at home just now and the missus informs me that there's some yellow snow on the grond on or around where I was parking. Disregarding or just plain not thinking about what yellow snow usually is, I promptly lifted the bonnet and check all fluid levels. I was parked on a curb/verge so the oil level was lower than normal, which I initially didn't think about, so had condemed it. Anyway, once I thought about it some more I parked on level ground, which made the level spot on again...d'oh.

I then cheked the coolant level, which was also spot on (I've been checking this for some time now as when I bought the car it had no coolane/water in the header tank!...It's been fine ever since). I checked the brake fluid level and PAS level, all of which were okay. No sign underneath of any leaks and no sign of fuel leaking etc.

I then put my logical head on and figured it was probably dog p*ss...Wonderful. Time to wash my hands...Yes, I tend to dip my hands in all things I think are fluids from under the bonnet to see if I recognise the smell..Sometimes even the taste! (I didn't taste it this time though!).

Of course, I could be barking up the wrong tree here (excuse the pun...). Anybody else have any ideas? I can't see any visible signs of fluid on the underside of the car when it's running...I was thinking it could have been gear oil, of which there's no level to check. As I said though, can't see anything on or around the gearbox.

I've been thinking some more about this. I've recently been hearing a clicking noise when stationary or moving very slowly whereby locking the steering to one side is feasable, when I steer...only does it on turning left, too...I put it down to something such as a steering rack joint, as I couldn't see it being anything else. Hope it's not a drive shaft. The clicking is when I teurn the steering wheel and not the type of noise you get when you have a dodgy CV joint, as the car isn't necesserily moving, and it's not coming from the drivetrain.

    Could be the ball joint.

They clunk on corners. I've heard KA's like to eat through lower wishbones/ball joints

Heard hubby laughing his head off last night. Looked out into the back garden and saw "Weeeee" written in the snow.

    I was not amused.

Yellow snow is usually just what you'd expect it to be..... one of my cats like to 'mark' my car when I get home!
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D
