A Moral Dilema - naughty or nice??

  • Well Father Christmas won't be bringing YOU anything this year!

this is not honesty, this is judgement.

I had not made a decision, I asked a question. Because I asked a question the assumption was that I was on the side of taking the money, when in fact I was leaning more the other way.

It is theft if you take the refund and keep the goods. Be good and own up to the "missed you" note.

  • I am sorry, I have obviously caused offence.

I genuinely thought that I hadn't asked anything which would cause so much anger.

I'll go and won't post any further - if there is a moderator who sees this and feels I have in anyway been out of order please let me know.

Again I genuinely apologise for any offence. It is not my nature and cerainly was not my intention. :(

  • I think a true MSE would take the money. ;) What's a better money saving tactic than taking any you are offered! (I kid.)

To be honest I think it's perfectly reasonable to at least wonder what to do, even if most people would eventually go with telling the truth. It's hardly up there with rape and pillage.

We'd probably discuss whether to do the naughty thing.

And then we'd do the nice thing ;)

  • Be honest, what if some employee somewhere gets blamed for the loss.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

I would make sure the "we missed you" card is your missing delivery before contacting the company again, and tell them the truth either way.

I've been tempted by things like this too, if you don't have a lot of money the prospect of getting some refunded *and* your stuff is always going to be tempting. The problem is that you have to face yourself after and that's worth much more than £45.

Check that the parcel being held is the same one from this company.

If it isn't get back onto them and ask for a refund, if it is, get in touch with them and thank them for being so helpful but explain that you now have the parcel.

I think any company that will go that little extra mile, doesn't deserve to be screwed over by anyone.

I mean, the parcel is only just a week late, it's not like you've been waiting a month and the company have said tough t!tty is it?
