  • I spent some money today too - 50p on two rolls at the bakery. DH made bread yesterday but it was horrible so I opted to spend money instead. :p

  • And I haven't spent a penny this month other than the breakdown ins (although much needed and £1 cheaper than if I had waited until Feb ;)) & the aeriel (but this is from joint account and not actually "my" money....

So almost through the first week and my £15 pocket money is still intact :T so will roll it over to next week's PM

Today a NSD was easy as I still wasn't feeling well so didn't leave the house apart from a brief momet when I thought I was going to work, started out on the drive, came over feeling really hot & woozy and decided I was better off at home so turned the car around.

Trying not to sleep today as have to get up at 5 tomorrow to go to a meeting in London...

Just going to watch E'stenders & go have a bath and have an early night (hopefully! Still not sleeping well...)

Anyway enough of my rambling. Wish me no spending lucky for tomorrow

oooooo 5 days of no smoking :j

  • spends today: £2.43 on recorded delivery to return the top I purchased on 30/12 from ebay so that will be £8 refund. Really need to gather some more funds in the coffers after the tv aeriel on Tues and now there is something wrong with my car's battery & brake lights so dropping off at the garage tomorrow - can't odds it though when its about safety can you? I guess it'll have to go on the ole CC and I'll pay it off after I get paid and no savings into the ISA next month...

In one way I could look at it and say is kinda b*ggered my spending diary but on the other I guess its even more needed this month than ever! ;)

Good job I emailed the sun a top tip for saving cash - if its printed its £100 prize :p

Also will be ebaying my little heart away tomorrow ;)

And will send off the child benefit form (I didn't realise I was entitled to it as ds is in education at 18) so hopefully that will be backdated to beginning of Nov when he started the course - although 50% I have said he can have but anyway, hopefully all things will add up and my spending diet won't be too poor....

oh said soemthing about cineworld tickets in tomorrow's telegraph so will look into that as it will defo make the pm go further :T

1 WEEK WITHOUT SMOKING :j and quitsilk says I have saved £8.17 :T and not smoked soemthing like 140 cigs :o:o:o but also :j

pocket money for the week left: £27.57 :)

    Hey DNMS
Cineworld tickets are in the Sunday Times tomorrow :)
Well done on the not smoking - you should keep the money in a sealed tin and open it at the end of the year and see how much you have saved!! :D
    Keep up the great work.

  • bad times in the DNM diet :(

    spends to declare:

£5.95 for a work lunch not too bad
£29.10 on a filling - not from my PM allowance but not great

My car started making weird noises on the way home today so I called the garage and they are coming to tow it away tomorrow - will also fix the loose wiring that is causing the batt light & brake light to keep coming on/off I fear the consequences will hit me hard....

Only thing I can say is thank god I'm on this diet and not spending like there's no tomorrow or I would be heading back into debt! Life has not been kind to me this month financially!!!

Have decided not to hire rental car for £12 a day but catch public transport to work this week for £7.30 pd and work in the office in my home town a couple of days - hopefully car will be repaired by the end of the week  It will be a total mish Wed as my office in the town I work in is about 3 miles from the train station (and my home is about 2 1/2 miles from the train station) so will add considerably to my day but my bike is there so will collect and use from then on in (thinking of the exercise! :))

Went to the gym today! induction booked for wed :)

spends left for the week: £21.62

  • Spends: £1200 (to pay on Friday)

car needs so much doing to it so that has wiped out my bank account and most of mt savings :( yesterday was soooooo gutted about it (and a bit today) but today is a new day & I'm up for it today! Still have £21.62 although clearly if I could go the rest of the month without spending a penny it wouldn't be a bad thing!

managed a NSD yesterday and went for a run with my ds for "motivation" (bless him he saw that I was upset and decided he'd come with me, he had in in stitches of laughter but his motivationalo technique is somewhat harsh!) feeling the burn this morning so there's something in it.

Luckily have a lift to work today (hope I can score the same tomorrow and then work in home town on Friday :))

Ok better get my act into gear, can't be late if I'm being picked up! Going to the gym for an induction this evening :T

  • Ok I have been so pleased with myself with this personal challenge I have set up. I am now into day 15 which means its the first day of the 3rd week so my total of £21.62 spending money gets rolled over to this week's £15 giving me a total of £36.62 :j (I'm positively rich!)

Today we went to a spa (I bought a voucher in December for £10 off lastminute.com) and I had a facial & me & oh used the sauna, steam room, jacuzi & swimming pool. Oh paid for the petrol as I paid for the voucher. Took sandwiches, which we ate in the lounge area with a mocha & a pint - me & oh respectively - and a packet of crips each (£6.50).

We then went for a walk in the town where the spa was, and went to the Museum and came home, pretty knacker now actually! Purchased a jigsaw puzzle in a cs for £2.45

so spends to declare: £4.50 (50% of £9)

    spends for week: £32.12
