Sky+ box

Hi,
I currently have a basic sky tv, internet, phone bundle.
I was planning on downgrading to internet and phone only, and getting a freesat card to put inside my current sky box(non-HD, non Sky+).
I have been given a Sky+ box (non-HD I think).
So, will I be able to use the Sky+ function with the freesat, or do I have to be subscribed to Sky TV? Does it cost to have the Sky+ function enabled - how much?
Thx in advance and Merry Xmas.

Your existing card will revert to free-to-air channels if you cancel so you DO NOT need a freesat card & to keep the record/play ext,it'll cost you £10 a month to keep it active.0

Yup I'm sure for two reasons..
1-I used to work for Sky
2-I use my old Sky box with existing card as a FTA reciever in the spare bedroom
If you plan to use the Sky+ as a normal Sky box then, best bet then would be to disable one of the feeds.0 -

Neither, it will revert to FreesatfromSky, which is different from Freesat and Freeview.0
