Samsung D500 up and down buttons stopped working Help!

Just today the up and down buttons on my phone have stopped working, is there anything I can do to get them working again? Or is it a common fault?

The phone is in great condition dont know why it has suddenly stopped working!?

I had a problem with the up button. It stopped working, then it worked when you pressed it hard then it just seemed to fix itself.

I had this problem, mine was within the 12 month guarantee so i took it into Carphone Warehouse & they re-programmed it for free.....

usual fault is corrosion under the keypad membrane, due to liquid damage (even condensation)
this involves completely stripping phone to clean it - not recommended if you havent done one before.
if not this then prob a faulty chip or ribbon cable
