Problem with new TV & dvd recorder

Can anyone help
Just bought a Panasonic plasma TV. When we try to use our DVD recorder with it, this message keeps coming up.
`Recording failed due to TV system mismatch` and we can't get rid of it off the screen.
The dvd recorder is a Pioneer as far as we know the right leads are plugged in but we cannot record anything to the hard disc.
Any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks for this I've given them a go. As regards your question I am afraid I haven't the faintest.0 -

The link was to the problem solving part of your manual where it explains this fault code/message, please read down the page in the link.0 -
Yes I see what you mean. However it doesn't actually tell you how to rectify it. We sort of guessed the set up is wrong.0

Your DVD recorder has an inbuilt TV tuner you should be recording from that not directly from the TV, start again step by step with the manual.0

Hi,assuming it is not a new Pioneer recorder then it should record analogue programmes off its own built in tuner and digital ones IF it has a built in digital tuner. I had a Pioneer recorder and it would only record analogue programs from the tv, therefore if your area has switched to digital only and your Pioneer only has an analogue tuner your only option would be to connect a freeview box to the recorder.0

Can you not donate it, there is clearly nothing wrong with it.
