I think its a bit harsh too but if there are a few then he should have been more careful. If he's coming back you could ask him to fix them.0

The OP’s plaster probably wouldn’t have left them either if he had been doing the job for his eagle eyed mother/father in law

All I am saying is this doesn't make him a "very poor tradesman"!!
Yes it might be lazy but I would rather have someone who does a great job of getting the walls flush, the plaster without defects but leaves a few splashes to be brushed of than someone who leaves it neat but not as good a job overall.
P.S. I did ask so thanks for your opinion. I will just ask him to finish up.0 -
What type of brush should I use to remove these if I do them myself?0

gentle use of a scraper, they aren't normally very well stuck on0

clean masonry chisel, gently but firmly by hand. The rounded edge you find on masonry chisel generally glides over the finished plaster. and you find that the splash is more firmly fixed to itself than it is to the finished wall. I would do it once the plaster has hardened but long before it dries as the splashes are probably easiest to see at that timeHi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
