Hi, I am due my giro for ESA on the 28th also. Is the 24th the date I should receive it or the date it will be posted?

If it is posted on the 24th it won't arrive until maybe the 29th at the earliest as there are no deliveries on the 25/26/27/28th.

In which case I won't get it and earlier - in time for Christmas!

If is supposed to arrive on the 24th that is OK as the PO is open until 5pm. After that they don't open again until the 29th!

Either way, saying that it will come early is misleading.

I presume also that my wife's 4 weekly OAP giro will be caught up in the same problem.

It is rare that people don't have bank accounts nowadays isn't it? I can think of someone else that didn't too! :p
    Gone ... or have I?

So can I, I wonder who that is? Also I find it surprising that someone who worked for the Civil Service did not have a bank account to have their salary paid into.

I was going to answer the post but thought I had wasted enough time already.

Fine, but to add a comment to that: my salary and now my pension is paid into my daughter's bank account. DWP/Pension Service have refused to do the same. Seemingly the account has to be in joint names for both payments to be credited.

I have savings and investment accounts but these do not accept credits through the banking system!

Apart from opening accounts which we do not wish to do for obvious reasons, payments have to be made by way of giros.

    Acceptable?

As for being rare, that is what the government thought until they now find that 1000's of pensioners are refusing to give details of bank accounts even if they have them, preferring to be paid by giro instead.

What's wrong? Haven't you enough weed and alcohol and morphine for the holidays?

Is that supposed to be a reasonable answer to a reasonable question?

And once again I don't touch alcohol - never have, and the subject of weed was a reply to a personal insult that was totally uncalled for! As for Morphine, yes I have - I collected it together with all of my other medication today.

But if you wish to continue to make yourself look a complete pratt carry on - I have more important things going on in my life than to reply to stupid comments.

Its even more rare to have your pensions etc. paid into a daughters account, I can only think of one other person who did this, add in the not being on the elctoral roll and not mentioning MH problems while claiming ESA and failing the PCA is a clincher for me.
