Going to try and do the quoty thing.Well it's all over for another year!
Why can't I leave the goodies alone at Christmas time?
Taking into account the nuts and chocolate I ate over the last two days, my scales show my weight as staying the same :j I had bread yesterday (first in two weeks) gosh did I feel sluggish at bedtime:(
Today has been a good day so on the right track again.
My skin also gets very dry in the winter, I just use loads of cream but I am going to try the OCM it has got to be cheaper and more effective.
LL, there is a quote button at the bottom of the post, just click it and away you go. If you only want to quote part of a post like this
Anyway could you please show me how you do the quoty thing, that is I've noticed that when you want to refer to something someone has said you can quote them. Thanks in advance.
then you need to copy and paste, do you know how to do that?

Hey girls, thought I'd pop in!Let myself go a bit over the past couple of months as my autistic son is temporarily being home educated until easter,I'm sole carer technically and I've been soo stressed!
Anyway,I need to get back to being me rather than feeling old at 28!!!
Started a diet today with shakes for breakfast and lunch (best way for me) to lose extra weight I'd put on and kick start myself and I've just ruined it by spotting a rather unloved, lonely looking packet of Jelly Tots that so desperately needed to feel wanted....:rotfl:If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Well that worked ok - just need to get my DS2 to show me the copy and paste bit again. I know, I know - I'm a bit slow, he has shown me before but I've forgotten. I'm not going to let it beat me.
Anyway Carmen, you've done well to stay the same weight over the Christmas period, you'll be starting from a good point.
Good idea about your little girls new dresses Whitewing. Perhaps if you ask her very nicely MIL will make you something nice too;)0 -
Hi Shegirl
Just spotted your post and wanted to say hello.
I'm a carer myself and I know how draining it can be, you need to take care of yourself too so good for you taking those first baby steps.
As for the jelly tots - well we all slip up from time to time.
Are you eating enough. I know some people find those shake things very helpful. If it were me then I would drink the shakes and still want to eat just as much as normal. But then that's probably just me ....little piglet that I am, oink, oink.0 -

Well done on getting the hang of 'Quote' LL. When the quote appears in the reply box, you can delete bits or highlight or whatever's relevant like I've done above. What you mustn't do is interfere with the square brackets at all otherwise it won't come out properly.
I'll be interested to know how you get on with glucosamine. I've been a bit stiff in my knees lately. I think I overdid the dancing a bit before Christmas.
Welcome shegirl. My DD2 kicked off her weightloss last year with those shakes. Then she moved to healthy eating, reduced portion sizes and exercise but it was enough to motivate her.
whitewing, I think the 'goodydrawer' is a great idea. I tend to use our breadbin in much the same way. I only have a single slice of bread a day so I'm not in there often:) I buy a few treats for OH, particularly things I don't like, and put them in there for him. He's not a huge snacker but he does like something with a cup of tea mid-afternoon.0 -
Hello Shegirl and welcome to SSS.
Mmmm jellytots cannot remember the last time I had those!
Goodie drawer is a great idea WW, my OH also like something sweet with his afternoon tea. Why is it that sometimes goodies can stay in the fridge/cupboard for weeks without me giving them a second glance, then BAM I just have to eat them
Maman, thanks for the extra info on quotey :T yet another thing I have learned today.
Well done LL. I think not liking Christmas pud and mince pie's helped me maintain...for now

Today I have:
-slept until 11.30am
-had a vitamin pill
-had a fish oil tablet
-had some water to drink but not enough so I must get some out for this evening
-popped to the shops so had a little bit of a walk and fresh air (snow has gone now so I have no excuse for not walking regularly)
-squited on some perfume (thanks for the reminder LL)
But, I have
-just had mince pies and biscuits when I got home.
Now in damage limitation.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I've been quite good today! Ds slept well last night despite recent super hyperness so I woke in a better mood!!!
Shower as soon as I woke (instead of waiting an hour) helped!Used my Nip+fab shower oil, body brushed.Got my microdermobrasion kit out (I have hoards of fab skin care but due to feeling a bit poo lately haven't been keeping up like I used to)
Strawberry shake for breakfast (and I NEVER have anything for breakfast)
Nice walk with the puppy.
Hot chocolate meal replacement for lunch...makes a nice change to a shake.
Only had 3 cups of tea which is a miracle for me,been drinking up to 10 cups a day over the past few months:o:o
Loads of water, although I accidently ordered carbonated mineral water instead of normal. It's truely foul but there are 20 bottles of the stuff:rotfl::rotfl: Always find that I'll drink more water if I have the 50cl bottles to hand!
Had some grapes, kiwi and orange for snacks:eek: Although did also have a couple of Celebrations....
Ds is insisting on fish fingers for tea (and silly me promised him the other day) so I'm going to have mine with new potatoes and veg while he has the promised treat of them with curly fries, just have to hope he doesn't get upset that my food is different:rotfl:
That leaves me with some extra calories for a treatThen I'm looking forward to a lovely Lush bath later and settling down to read a book for a bit instead of sitting online all night (as I've done recently because a.I ran out of books and b.I wasn't feeling quite in the mood for books...needed something else but I don't know what!)

Hi Everyone
Day 17 and it has been a really busy one, spent a fair bit of it on the motorway - visiting FIL (88 and a widower, so did his shopping etc whilst I was at it).
Not had time for a treatment today - so will do something a bit extra tomorrow. Did sleep for an hour on the sofa before dinner - sleep is supposedly one the best beauty treatments anyway.
Exercise today - 4kms bike (did 3 yesterday so now back up to my pre-Christmas rate). The usual yoga and Swiss Ball. Going to review my exercise regime soon.
WW you've really stepped up to the plate now, well done on the walking too - I aim to start walking in the New Year (weather permitting, I'm very nervous on the ice I'm afraid)
Shegirl - what a fantastic start, noticed you went for a walk too - a couple of Celebrations won't do any real harm.
Maman - I've been taking Glucosamine for a couple of years now and I find it really helpful. I mentioned it the other day because I've just started taking it again after a gap. (I had simply run out and not got round to buying some more, and my knees were playing up again). You usually need to take it for a few weeks for it to start taking effect. I notice a big difference when I take it.
Till tomorrow0 -
I've managed a walk today too. It's much milder here now and all snow and ice completely gone. I must make it more of a habit. Posting on here will help:)
Thanks for info on glucosamine LL, I'll get some when I'm shopping next. Well done on keeping up with the exercise despite your busy day.
What sort of books do you enjoy shegirl? I'm going to make more reading a resolution. For years, almost all my reading (i.e. not work related) was confined to holidays and I got out of the habit.
Pleased to say our eating is getting back to normal. We didn't go mad over the holiday but did enjoy a stir-fry tonight. All cooked leftover cooked meats now portioned up and in the freezer.0
