He did a basic servey and nothing was serious. He got one of his friends who is a suryor to come for free as well. His friend didn't spot anything either. To be honest, our flat was under very good condition and we accepted his offer for a quick sell. He has got a bargain. But he is still trying on. Can't believe this guy! I guess we will just ignore him from now.0

I'm unclear here - was the e-mail from the buyers solicitor directly to you, or did it go through your own solicitor? If it was the first then the buyers solicitor is in breach of the rules which do NOT allow the other party's solicitor to contact you directly. If it has come directly from him then I think whoever is the national body for solicitors (the Law Council?) would be very interested in this breach of practice.0

I don't think it's a rule, it's just not the done thing.
I imagine it's been sent directly to the OP to see if they are moved to cough up some cash. The OPs solicitor would indeed just bat it back with eric's suggestion of Arkell vs. PressdramEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

My dad used to do conveyancing - and he was very clear. He wasn't allowed to talk to the other party directly. He's retired now, so it may have changed, but he could have been struck off for it, I do know that.0

I would however question how the buyer or his solicitor got hold of the seller's address. Seller's solicitor and Agent should not pass these on.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
This is very simple....the buyers sol needs to re-arrange the following....jump...take...running....a. LOL. They have to be joking. Oh and 7 visits - wow you should be paid for your patience! Me suspects this is a FTB and one who has confused you with a landlord who has let the property.0

To make it clear, the buyer did send the email to his solicitor and his solicitor forwarded his email to my solicitor. Then my solicitor passed it onto us. I can't remember how many times he came to view the flat after he put an offer, at least 7 times, probably more. Also he asked a window company to come to measure the window before we exchanged the contract. My husband wanted to refuse him but he kept calling and said that will be a big favour. We backed up and agreed. Maybe we are stupidly too nice and he doesn't deserve it.0

You sound really lovely and accommodating and this shyster his misunderstood your willingness to be decent with people who can be bullied and walked over. Now, it's time to tell this person to sling their hook and leave you alone. Either do that via your solicitor or directly if it's going to cost you money. Then cease all communication0

So what advice had your solicitor given you when he sent it to you??0

1, one drawer was a little bit broken,
Suggest he looks in Yellow Pages under "kitchens".2, shower door was broken,
Yellow Pages, "bathrooms".3, there is a damp in one of the cabinet in the hall,
Yellow Pages under "damp experts".4, the wiring was too old.
You guessed it, YP again, "electricians".
None of this is your problem unless you stated something directly to the contrary.0
