Internet Explorer or Firefox?

after rescuing my pc with the help of you super humans on this board I'm wondering which is the safest internet browser to use?

    it's all relative (safer) but firefox and the excellent addon noscript/ i cannot/will not use ie -- ever / cancan.gif

  • Anything but IE Firefox has the most addons avalaible and as stated above noscript is very good at stopping things get on to your pc

    Firefox, with Noscript, Adblock plus, and betterprivacy addons.
  • As above, Firefox with Adblock etc and Ebay sidebar if you buy/sell stuff on there.

    And Firefox has a free spell check add-in (with non-English languages available too) that would cost money for the equivalent plug in. Not to mention the free password manager add-in that is nearly as good as IE's paid for equivalents.

    Firefox will happily run alongside IE, so try both and see how you get on with them. You are a bit more in control with Firefox and the NoScript extension though. Depends how many possibly threatening sites you may visit.
