Recommend me a phone!
I had a HTC Mozart running windows 7 for a whole 3 weeks before I managed to kill it (they don't swim:o:o)
My insurance company are sending a cheque for £425 to replace it, so I can basically go and buy what I like:D. I'm on contract with Orange, so it obviously needs to be able to go on that n/w.
I wasn't overly in love with the Mozart, mainly due to the lack of apps, either free or payable. I don't want an iphone.
I don't have any great need for specific apps, but I want some to play with:D
Good internet connectivity and a fairly decent camera are essentials, other than that I'm open to suggestions.
Give me your suggestions!:D

Personally I'd go for the HTC Desire and pocket the difference or buy a water proof case with the difference0

oh DON'T!! I was mortified-I've never lost or damaged a phone in my life and the second I get a fancy shmancy one I kill it!
The desires are certainly getting a good write up on a lot of review sites anyway0 -
any more?0

Lots of apps but don't want an iphone? Sounds like you need Android!
Your budget should comfortably get you one of the HTC models; Desire, Desire HD or Desire Z. The Samsung Galaxy S is another option but the camera doesn't have a flash so that might be a factor for you.
If I had £450 burning a hole in my pocket right now I'd probably go for the Desire HD.0 -

I totally agree with that, although I will say that the Desire HD is HUGE.
Also maybe worth waiting til the 20th for the Google Nexus S, although I think that HTC are the best manufacturers at the moment and would go for the original Desire.0 -
"Amandada" I can recommend you Apple Iphone. To my mind its the best cellphone I have ever had.0

I'm not that excited about the Nexus S - looking at the specs it doesn't seem that much of an advance on the Galaxy S and the main selling point seems to be that it's Android 2.3. With a launch price of £550 I'm not sure it's worth the money.0 -
If it makes you feel any better - a friend of mine managed to drop her phone in the swimming pool, fished it out and got it working again... then stood up from sitting at the poolside, phone on knee and it slid in and took a second dip within the space of about an hour. The second swim did for it.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
