Meet celebs for free...

If you're in London and got kids and want something free to do, it's pretty easy to meet TV celebs if you're prepared to be patient.
On Saturday morning TMi is broadcast live from Leicester Square. This morning I took my daughter down at 6.30 because her favorite band were on (McFly*), she got to meet them going in and have her photo taken with them, as well as Sam and Mark* who host the show. Then had to hang around for ages till they came out and she met them again (although it's really packed with fans by then).
Afterwards we walked down to Covent Garden to doorstep Ashlee Simpson* as she came in to appear in Chicago that afternoon.
Over the last couple of years my kid's met tons of celebs including Beyonce, Alicia Keys, The Streets, Busted, Jamiroquai and loads more. It's a cheap day out (take a thermos and snacks and sarnies to keep the cost down) and they remember it and talk about it for ages afterwards.
*if none of these names mean anything to you, you are officially old...:rotfl:

What a GREAT idea - My daughter's a bit young at the moment but i'm sure she'll love it in a few years.

Why would anyone want to waste time meeting vapid individuals merely because they're well known for being in the media? Are you all brain-dead?0

A little girl wanting to meet The Streets?
*Imagines little girl dancing about her bedroom singing about wanting to get pranged out on charlie, steeling peoples dogs from parks and about sleeping with random groupies*

If you check on Waterstones or Borders sites you'll find details of book signings (if you think Beatlemania was bad, just try a Jaqueline Wilson signing). Similarly for HMV and Virgin for CD signings. Visitlondon.co.uk for details of who is appearing in the West End (go a couple of hours before curtain up to catch them going in. If you do it after it's packed out). For TMI in Leicester Square, check on bbc.co.uk/cbbc and see who's on this week. Also, if your kids have particular favorites, join the relevant websites and keep an eye on the message boards.
Yes, it is hard work waiting for them so if your kids aren't really into it then it's not worth it (my daughter's really into vapid celebrities so she loves it). Just going to check on her now, as she's supposed to be doing her homework but now I'm worried she's upstairs pranging out...:rotfl:0
