If you can find out the postcode for the house(s) that you are interested in and then do a Rightmove search for that postcode, at the bottom is a link to click to "see more market activity". Click this and along with the land registry prices of houses sold there will also be previously listed houses for sale in that postcode which will include what you are looking for.

This was a great tip! I've just tried it and it came up with loads of old adverts for the building I'm interested it, plus sold prices too.

Thanks Geoff: I'm all mac however and thats an exe so no use, but I'm sure its good!
Fingers crossed for my 1st viewing hopefully tomorrow: as long as the rear access is wide enough I think I might jump at it!
    (1930s terrace with period features)

Just an update: access was fine, house turned out to be a repo with everything switched off & drained, a few minor faults and electric consumer unit not too modern and boiler quite old I think, some mould on kitchen walls-looks VERY much like condensation to me so not unduly worried.
I am awaiting a survey, after my offer at full asking price (checked a LOT and found houses like this are circa £130k-132k normally so it's 10-12k under, subject to a survey being ok it sounds like a go-er!
I shall go back in better weather for check number 2 and a bit of measuring!
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

    Possibly a strange question but:
I've been looking for a house and doing all the sensible things -using property bee toolbar, globrix, rightmove etc.
Ocasionally EAs have relisted houses to refresh stock which tends to hide the history of how long they've been on sale and how much the advert has changed, including, rather importantly, the original price asked.
As I obviously want to bargain a bit on the price, knowing if the price has been dropped and how long it's been on the market for are pretty crucial.

So: are there any sites or any way of finding older adverts for the same property?
    Hi

Not a strange question as tried to do similar to get an understanding of the property's current situation. Alwasy good to know how long the property has been on for, and at what prices previously, and also what the vendor's situation is. Try googling street name, post code etc and see what comes up if you haven't already sites like trovit might show the original price a property was up for, and idicate when the property was originally put on the market. I saw a property a few months ago back in october and asked at the time the estate agent how long they had it on their books they said a few weeks. Asked the same question to a different colleague in decemeber again... 'a few weeks'!
