Previous adverts for house

Possibly a strange question but:
I've been looking for a house and doing all the sensible things -using property bee toolbar, globrix, rightmove etc.
Ocasionally EAs have relisted houses to refresh stock which tends to hide the history of how long they've been on sale and how much the advert has changed, including, rather importantly, the original price asked.
As I obviously want to bargain a bit on the price, knowing if the price has been dropped and how long it's been on the market for are pretty crucial.
So: are there any sites or any way of finding older adverts for the same property?

WWW.ourproperty.co.uk will give you a list of prices of property sold in the same road from 1995which could include the one that you are interested in. You only have to register which is free to see the details. To Dare is To Do:beer:0 -
Zoopla.co.uk might help!0

propertysnake might do the trick but I'm not sure if that is also fooled by re-listing rather than changed ads.0

If you can find out the postcode for the house(s) that you are interested in and then do a Rightmove search for that postcode, at the bottom is a link to click to "see more market activity". Click this and along with the land registry prices of houses sold there will also be previously listed houses for sale in that postcode which will include what you are looking for.
It's quite interesting, I did this for one recently refurbished house and came up with the original advert (and subsequent selling price) for the derelict shell it had been previously
(If there's a google map of the property you can find out the postcode really easily by clicking the "get directions" bit)0 -
Thanks everyone (esp nuttyteddy as that IS a really useful tip!)
I already use propertyprices.co.uk to find previously sold prices: but it was specifically the SAME property I was looking for, I guess there's no simple answer: since I'm viewing two tomorrow I think I'll just ask the EA up front!
Property bee is showing price changed to £129.950 but not telling me the price it WAS, which is a bit annoying as I am determined to get it under the stamp duty threshold rather than paying even more tax (for nothing it seems!) To be fair similar properties sold in the past year haven't gone for anything over £122k, although this one is pretty darn good inside.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

just an update: house was a complete and utter waste of time viewing as rear access to the garden (I have motorcycles to store) was a removable fence panel and a 4 foot wall drop! (I am not kidding!).
Very annoyed that the EA (whose firm have previously sold this property 2 years ago also) should not verify their own adverts.
Looked at 2 more but not for me I think.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

home.co.uk often keeps data past rightmove "twiddles" (A cross between a tweak and a fiddle)0

I've noticed that Sarah: very useful.
I'm looking at one more this week, possibly two then it can wait until the new year.
Saw a beauty of a complete overhaul today (detached 3 bed victorian with huge garden for £130k! -untouched since the 60's from the pictures! -too much work for me!)Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

use property hive..this lists houses that have been re listed and where the ea has tried to hide the fact..
http://www.chumpusrex.com/PropertyHive/setup.exeIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Thanks Geoff: I'm all mac however and thats an exe so no use, but I'm sure its good!
Fingers crossed for my 1st viewing hopefully tomorrow: as long as the rear access is wide enough I think I might jump at it!
